Masculine Birthday Card

I have a nautical-themed masculine birthday card to share today. I used a KaiserCraft background fishing net background stamp on a piece of brown cardstock, stamping it with Brilliance Platinum Planet ink. I did a little sponging with Pumice Stone ink to age it somewhat. Next I stamped the fishing net background stamp on a piece of designer paper and heat-embossed it with white ep. I tore the edges and sponged them with Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, and Tea Dye inks. The word "Happy" from SSS "Oh Happy Day" was die cut in Bermuda Blue to make it stand out from all the brown colors. The birthday word was done with a SNSS die using Espresso cardstock. I added an Owen octopus die cut by MB, adding one big googlie eye and some spattered black ink. The anchor was cut from a recycled card that was embossed with gold on dark brown, and I used a Marianne die for that. The little silver fish were done with a very old punch I've had for years. I wove some neutral twine on the card and added a touch of gold stickles to the candle flame for a little sparkle.

I'm sharing this over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday blog where they're celebrating 7 years with a birthday card challenge. They're featuring SSS products, and I've used a SSS "Happy" on my card. This card will be going to a friend who loves to go fishing.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Carol
