Holiday Candles

I bought this "Holiday Candles" die by die-namites last year and was never quite sure what to do with it. I loved the silhouette image on the package, but cutting it with colored card stock proved to be challenging without trying to add color to the intricate design. I decided to just add a touch of glitter to the candles and leave it alone, but next time I might add some gems to the poinsettias too. I embossed the background with a SU! softly fallen ef, adding a piece of matching twill from my stash. The green was cut with a MFT circle die from gumball green card, and I gold-embossed a SU! sentiment, cutting it with a small circle punch. There's a MS snowflake punch behind the sentiment just for fun.

This will be going to the Jingle Belles "Bling on the Holidays" challenge, which is to add bling, or pretty much anything sparkly to a holiday/Christmas card.

Have a great Super Bowl Sunday, and thanks for stopping by.

Carol

Lovely card with this diecut and the embossed background! I think that the silouette looks great in red with the sparkling on the flames, but surely would have an additional beauty with gems on the poinsettias centers!
Have a great Sunday!

I really like this die and you did it up perfectly. I love it just as is, but I will look forward to seeing it again with the gems add to the poinsettias, That falling snow ef os pretty here and that twill looks great. Have a good day. I'm making chicken wings and pulled pork even though we probably won't watch the game anyway. Anything for an excuse to eat snacks in this house. Enjoy your day.

I am loving this card Carol! The embossing folder is so pretty and on my wish list. Love the candle die, and think it will look great with some gems on the holy. The ribbon and sentiment area is so cute, love that you put a snowflake behind the sentiment. I thought it was all one piece until I read how you did it. Hugs, Brenda

I see the dilemma with that die cut but it has solved with your card. That die over the embossed background brings out the elegance!

Love the simplicity of the bold red candle arrangement over this pretty white snow embossing. I think I bought some of these dies too, and like you, didn't know quite how to use them. Looks just grand & very elegant with the design you've made. TFS
