All Occasion Butterfly Card

I was playing with watercolor paper and inks one day and made several panels of blended colors that I put aside for future use. I pulled one panel out that was inked with summery colors, so I decided to turn it into a card, using the MB Vivienne and Darla butterfly dies. I cut several butterflies in colors of chocolate, red, and yellow, cutting the actual butterfly from orange, then after interchanging the negative colors, I popped the butterfly on foam tape on top of hello honey and black panels cut with MTF stitched circles. The inked panel was embossed with a TCW mini tiny circles stencil, and die cut with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle. I finished this with a piece of hello honey ribbon from SU! I left the sentiment off so I can use this for a birthday, anniversary, or thinking of you card when the need arises.

I'm sharing this with Mrs. A's Butterfly challenge #46 which is "I is for inks."

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you have planned.

Carol

I love the watercolour inked background as you have used some of my favourite colours but oh my goodness your stunning butterfly steals the show for me. The patience you have to replace all those tiny elements in the different colours. Thankyou for fluttering by my #46 butterfly challenge. hugs Mrs A.

What a beautiful card Carol! I love that inky background and that butterfly is just stunning in those fabulous colors. A nice and summery feel card and even though we haven't had a hard winter, I am looking forward to spring/summer. Hugs, Brenda

Saw this when checking out your Tree card, and had to skip down for a closer look. I think this is the very best use of this great MB butterfly I've seen to date. The inlay is so pretty, and great design with the outer circle mats. But the background is just bloomin' gorgeous, and perfect for your butterfly to perch on. Love this one! TFS
