Last year I bought a pack of retired Christmas paper from SU! for a very low price, and this year I finally got around to using it. I came up with this design and liked it so much that I made 3 different cards with it. I made a tag with 2 different SU! punches, and layered a cherry cobbler mat with rounded edges in-between the punched panels. The sentiment is from the SU! set Merry Everything, and it was embossed with white ep on a black panel, then cut with a SU! note tag punch. I added some plaid ribbon from my LSS and used some gold cord at the top. The gold glittered trees were done with a SU! mini punch. The little gold star on the top of the tag is a negative piece from a pinpoint border die by SSS.
Here's a version in green, using a SNSS lacey eyelet border die, along with some gingham ribbon from my LSS. I added vanilla and kraft cardstock to this one, adding punched ornaments (done with a SU! mini punch) and suspended them on narrow strips of washi tape.
Here's the kraft version done a little differently. The embossing folder is by SU! called Softly Falling and the ribbon is also from my LSS.
I'm entering these cards into the Happy Little Stampers November Christmas challenge which is to make a tag, or use a tag on your card.
I'm also sharing it with Pixie's Snippets Playground #202.
Thanks for dropping in to say hello. Have a great day!

Oh, these cards are very elegant! They are perfect also for men! Love your design with the tags and expecially like the last one with this gorgous snow embossing, it's so impressive! The sentiment you used is just perfect!
In the second one the lacey eyelet border is wonderful with the gingham lace and the ornaments!!
Wow!! I really LOVE your tags here!! I have the small tag punch, but I'm not sure what you used for the larger one. Is that a die cut?
I am especially loving that plaid and gingham ribbon!! GORGEOUS!! Thanks for sharing and happy weekend!! :)
Your cards are beautiful Carol. They all look so different using the different papers..Barbxx
A great trio of tags, I like the backing papers and the stamped tag looks super with the white embossing. I love your ribbons and the little punched decorations.

Love the way the patterned paper on the last card blends in with the snowflake embossing. ALL are outstanding and so pretty. The mini punch really came in handy on these beauties!

Saw your entry at the HLS November Christmas Tag challenge, and had to pop over for a closer look! Love the 3 tag cards you've created, and each is a little treasure. I especially love the snow embossing on #3, and kudo-s to you, for getting the paper bargain, and knowing JUST how to put it to spectacular use on some lovely & unique cards featuring some delightfully decorated tags. Always beautiful work from you! Hugs & have a great weekend, and thanks for joining in the HLS November Christmas challenge.
Beautiful array of cards. I think those papers make for great backdrops for your tags, ribbons, etc. Enjoy the weekend.
Very classy cards CArol, love the threaded ribbon, baubles and that lovely paper. xx

Saw your tag cards at the playground, and I just had to come and check out the details. They are lovely, Carol!
CLUNK!! That was my jaw hitting the ground Carol :) Oh boy, these are just fabulous cards - three so different yet using tags - so cool. My SU scalloped tag punch leered at me recently and this is just the inspiration I need - perfect for chaps too!
So pleased to see you're still causing mischief in the Playground :)
