Masculine Birthday

Today I'm sharing a masculine birthday card that was inspired by this beautiful card from my friend Lynn. I stamped several pine sprigs with Versamark ink on watercolor paper and heat-embossed them, sponging with Antique Linen ink and then Peeled Paint ink to add a little touch of green color. After it was sponged, I decided it needed a touch of color, so I added some berries with a stick stamp by Judith. It doesn't show up at all in the photo, but I added subtle streaks of clear glitter to the pines done with a Wink of Stella pen. The leaping deer were made with a Memory Box die in kraft and rust colors and sponged with chocolate chip ink, and I added color for eyes and noses with a fine black marker. The sentiment is from SSS and the mat for the image is always artichoke green.

I'm entering this into the Mod Squad challenge to create your own background without using pattern paper.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend as daylight savings time begins for us tonight and the spring warm-up apparently begins next week! I'm ready!

I'm fine with looking at this winter card because spring IS on the way, or at least I hope they are right with their predictions. You did a lovely job with this card. Love the sponging on top of the embossing. Have a good weekend and warmer week ahead (maybe).

I love this background you made and the leaping deer are great, I like that you added eyes and noses, I tend to do that sort of thing too. A super card.
We don't change our clocks till the end of the month, but the light is already lasting longer. i hope you get some warmer weather soon.

This is a very handsome card! Perfect for a guy. I love to see how the card Lynn made inspired this one. They are so different yet you can easily see how one inspired the other.
