Happy St. Patrick's day everyone! Even if you're not Irish, I think we all get into wearing green today or celebrating with a traditional Irish meal. I made Irish oatmeal this morning, does that count??
I pre-ordered this MFT quilt die in January, and it finally arrived yesterday, so I decided to pull out my snippets and make a card to celebrate St. Patrick's day. I die cut the quilt die from textured heavy green cardstock, and then diecut a very old snippet of shamrock dsp, placing the dsp pieces inside the quilt framework. I fussy cut a shamrock from the dsp, and layered it with matching cardstock, then covered it with Glossy accents and popped it up on foam tape for a little interest. The sentiment is from SU! and I added some dots with a Tombow marker. The card base is GinaK Ivory, in spite of my poor editing skills making it appear white.
When I cut this quilt die with 2 colors, I had leftover snippets, so I made a 2nd card with them....
This one is on a white card base, and I added some outside triangle die cuts with yet another snippet of matching green dsp. I hand-cut the center shamrock from the dsp, colored it with Copics, and popped it up on foam tape. The small shamrock by the sentiment was also fussy cut from the dsp. I've held onto this shamrock paper for probably a decade or more, and it's finally been used now. I guess that makes room for more snippets, right? lol
I'll share these over at the Snippets Playground #168, as well as the Cuttlebug Mania "freeze frame" challenge - to use or make a frame. I think this quilt square is a frame of sorts since the inside pieces were removed and replaced with others. Challenge police anyone?
Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a very lucky day filled rainbows and a pot of gold too!

Goodness, Carol, you've made two fabulous and very creative Irish cards today. Love them.
Hubby left with that green shirt on today...being that he came from a long line of Irishmen.
I have to tell you I looked at my phone in the afternoon yesterday and it showed 80 degrees. I could have done a flip...love it! Well, later in the week, it will be rain and back to the 60's. Yuck......
Well done! You are the second person to use this die. It should be on my must have list.
Bwahaha - do I comment as Miss D of the Playground or the challenge police then? Either way, these cards are just amazing Carol - great use of snippets and certainly a frame (in fact several!) in my eyes. So pleased you're joining in the Cuttlebug Mania - OK, am now off on a hunt to see if I can find that amazing die online. You're a bad girl/temptress!! :)

Both of your Irish cards are beautiful and elegant. I love the quilt die you used Carol. I think I have that same shamrock paper and have never used it. Love it use this way. Hugs, Brenda
Whoa! What a great die, so many possibilities with that, but love it as a St. Patrick's day piece and just think you get two wonderful cards with one shot. I have that paper too and have only used it to fussy cut the shamrocks out of.
You leaved me with the mouth so open.... :O Such stunning cards you made today!!! Just fabulous!!
Love this quilt die, I have never seen before!! Your cards have an adorable design and the stiched pieces are great! Love the shamrock in the center, looks so beautiful!! Great papers combo for both the cards!
Carol, it was sure worth the wait! These are amazing! You sure must be smiling since you were a very patient buyer! Perfect to use snippets!
Fabulous green St. Patrick's day cards Carol, I like both of them. You did a great job using all the snippets on the second one.
