I decided to jump on the technique bandwagon and give the Bokeh technique a try. I used a piece of watercolor paper, and "painted" it with an aqu brush and a mixture of reinkers and water - using shades of pink and blue. I spritzed it with water, and let the colors spread, blend, and completely dry - then sponged on white circles in different sizes. After nearly ruining my circle punches trying to punch through acetate to make the template, I decided to use post-it notes as templates instead. It worked! I added some white die-cut prim poppies and a punched butterfly in pool party blue, then added a LOTV white heat-embossed sentiment. The final touch was to add 3 tiny pink gemstones to the butterfly. I wanted the background to show through, but the white flowers seem to get lost in all that color now that it's finished. lol
I'm taking this over to the MFP Speedy Fox & Friends challenge #255 which is to make a birthday card with a butterfly.
Thanks for stopping by and hopefully we'll all be seeing some spring flowers one day soon!

This is fabby, Carol! I hope you don't mind if I case it down the road. I keep staring at my unicorn white ink from Hero Arts, and wanting to give this a go.

Love the background Your card is beautiful thanks for playing at SFF MFP >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Lis
I don't think your flowers got lost at all. You did a fantastic job with this Bokeh technique and I will make note of your experience with the acetate and go straight for the post it notes. Thanks for the little piece of information with will save lots of us some aggravation. Have a great afternoon.
This is so nicely done! Great job with this technique. I tried the Bokeh background, and it is still not finished. I can't get anything to look right on top of it...I guess I need to keep trying.
This is one of the more stunning examples of the Bokeh techniques I've seen. Lovely colors and movement. You picked great dies to finish this off.
This is fabulous Carol, you did a great job with the Bokeh technique, and the die cut flowers look great. I love the colours you used and the little butterfly.

Your Bokeh background looks amazing Carol! This is a technique I've wanted to try too, but just hadn't gotten up the nerve yet. lol I don't think your white flowers get lost in the background at all, I noticed them right away. I also love your butterfly. I just love this card Carol! Hugs, Brenda
I love that you tried the technique the GDT showed us...you must pop over to her blog and tell her!! She would love to check out your version. I don't think the white flowers are lost at all. I think it is beautiful and perfect. So what do you do with the post-it notes?

Super job with the bokeh technique, Carol. Your card is beautiful. Glad you didn't break that punch.
Gorgous Card!!! That background is beautiful!!!
Thanks for sharing with us this week at Speedy Fox and friends...
Oh I DO like this one! You are getting on that background bandwagon Miss C. Love the marbling with your watercoloring and your bokeh circles are wonderful. I'm not all that successful with using acetate & dies...I've never tried with punches. I have enough trouble with punches just using c/s! This is mega pretty Carol. TFS
I love this card and I think the flowers look fantastic against your background. I may have to jump on the bandwagon too after seeing this. Thanks for sharing this with us at MFP's Speedy Fox and Friends.
No, the white flowers are perfect!! That background made me sigh with happy - just gorgeous!
