Pop-Up Birthday Card

I haven't made a pop-up card for a long, long time, and the Mod Squad challenge this week is to make one, so I made one using some of my snippets of dsp and cardstock. I used a sentiment from the GinaK designs Stately Flowers 6 stamp set as the focal point, stamping it on dsp and layering it with SB labels 18 dies. I drew a line around the inside of each die with a marker before cutting, and popped each layer up on foam for dimension. I added 3 small lavender gemstones at the bottom.

Here's the inside - a stack of pop-up presents, all tied up with ribbons and some stamped balloons. I used SU! cottage wall dsp, razzleberry and olive cardstocks and matching inks (including pale plum) for the entire card. I'll be saving this card for a special someone because it does take some time to make one of these.

With all the snippets I used I'll also enter this into the Snippets Playground #164.

Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today and I wish you a fantastic Valentine's day as well as a great weekend!

Carol

Wow! I don't blame you for saving that one for just the right person. The pop up is just gorgeous and I love that outside sentiment. You did big!!

Now this is a very special card with that sentiment and your wrapped presents and balloons. I've never even attempted to make a popped up card and probably never will. LOL Have a good weekend.

A fabulous card Carol, I love the colours and the sentiment. A great idea to draw the line around the die cut labels, it really adds interest. Then the nice surprise inside with the pop up presents.

What a super card! Love the colours. I've never made a pop-up card. I'll have to find some instructions to see if they're as complicated to make as they look. :-) xx

Fantastic looking card Carol. I think we are all the same . . . when we take EXTRA time over a card, we save it for someone special!

What a beautiful card Carol! I love when a sentiment is the focal point of the card and this one is a beauty! The inside is so awesome, love the packages all tied up with the bow. The balloons are the perfect accent too! Hugs, Brenda

I've never done one of these (and darn it, think I've got a Karen Burniston die that does it for you!). Love the stacked dies with the line drawing. Added so much detail to the die cuts. Lovely presents and the happy balloons. Indeed it deserves someone special to appreciate all the hard work. TFS & Hugs

Wow Carol - this is fabulous! The front is lovely enough for a card on its own, but then the inside with the pop up present stack, balloons and sentiment is stunning. Great work!

Hugs

Di xx

This is a fun design! I've made a Christmas card like this before. I love all your layering on the front of the card. I'm particularly impressed with you ability to trace the inside borders. No way could I have done that without mishap! Great card!
