Santa is Coming

Have you ever found that certain piece of dsp in a paper pack that you liked but didn't quite know what to do with it? This card was made from one of those paper pads. I knew I liked the Santa image, but it was so large I couldn't figure out how to use it on a card. I decided to cut the Santa image out and use it for the focal point, and I was able to use another one of those paper designs for the background. I forget which paper pad this came from because the covers are long gone, but I like how it turned out. I added some hunter green card for the SNSS scalloped border and mat, while I added a touch of red for the banner - done with SU! stamps and a framelit die. The final touch was a candi dot along with some long retired SU! ribbon. In spite of the dsp throwing me a curve, this is one of my favorite cards I've made this year :)

I'm taking this one over to the Snippets Playground for weeks 156 & 157.

Santa will be on his way soon, so I hope you haven't been too naughty this year and you'll find lots of presents under your tree :)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

Carol, this is a great card. So great that I think I'm going to CASE it immediately before I forget (you know how my mind works these days). I'm not sure which list I'm on the Naughty or Nice, but I'm hoping for the Nice List. I'm sure you are on the Nice List and I wish you a wonderful holiday.

What a gorgeous vintage looking Father Christmas! He is wonderful and looks great trimmed downto fit your card.

I know what you mean about liking something yet wondering i how to fit in on a card. Sometimes they are too large and your idea to trim it down is great...
Other times they seem too small and then need matted several times!

Great card Carol.

Merry Christmas!

Yes, I have lots of packs that I bought due to liking 'something' in it, then don't know how to use the large designs. I probably have this one, as it looks familiar. You scored big on this one, as the image is perfect on this card (and I'll be hunting to see if I do have it!). I really liked the striped border and you turned out a stunning snippet card! You rock! (don't think Mr. is kidney stones, as he didn't have pain. Still not just sure exactly what 'tis, but he was a little better today, thank goodness. Be a long ride home to have to stop every few minutes and sometimes no rest areas for many, many miles!) Hugs & TFS. Merry Christmas.

Hi Carol! Fabulous card and I recognised the paper straight away. Went on a Miss Marple forage and it's from Bo Bunny's 'Father Christmas' paper pad!! :)
