Be Home Soon

My card today is for the Shopping Our Stash SOS#159 challenge, which is to use wood or wood veneer OR a sailing/boating theme, OR to combine them both. I combined them both.
The vertical banner and anchor were made from a thin piece of wood veneer I received in a prize package several years ago and never had a clue how to use it. While cleaning my craft room recently, I discovered the veneer wood and put it on my desk in the hopes of figuring out a way to use it before tossing it, and then I saw this challenge and had that lightbulb moment! The wood was embossed with a Tim Holtz wood ef after adjusting the sandwich on my Big Shot. I colored it in a little bit with a distress marker and a few Copics. The anchor was die cut with a Marianne die after shimming a few times, and covered with glossy accents before being strung onto some neutral colored twine. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, while the image is SU!'s Open Sea, and the wave dies were done with SNSS dies. The mesh was from my stash. Thanks SOS for helping me find a use for that wood veneer!!

And thank YOU for stopping  by today. Wishing you a great weekend!

Carol

A perfect nautical card! That webbed ribbon makes a perfect fishing net. I love this card. I've seen this SU boat in action a couple of times recently. I'm going to have to dig mine out and give it a play I think.
