Birthday Boy

Here's a birthday card for a young man using a Dustin Pike digital image that was colored with Copics. The background papers are from Echo Park, and the balloons were done with a MS punch, and tied on with red crochet thread. I poked holes around his fist and pulled the threads behind to make it look like he's actually holding those balloon strings. I added 2 fun clips to the top and side of the main image that say "Party" and "Play." The sentiment is from CASual Fridays stamps.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown #199 - Special man (any age)
Cardz 4 Guyz #22 - A child's birthday card (must be masculine)

Thanks for checking in, and as always - I wish you a wonderful day!

Carol

Fantastic card, Carol. Genius idea to poke those holes. It does look just like he is holding the balloons. Have a great day.

Oh cute! Love the way you added the balloons to his fist, and the dimension on the balloons too. A really fun & bright card for a youngster and as always, great coloring. Sorry to have been MIA for a bit, but off to enjoy some of your other work. TFS & Hugs

Oh, that is so much fun, I don't know where to start. Brilliant idea to punch the string holes. It's always hard to find cards boys would actually like, but this is definitely a winner and the paper is perfect. I SWORE I wasn't going to buy anymore stamps, but hey, a digital image isn't cheating. Is it? Because I really, really want that one. :)

A fun card! I have some of those clips and had planned to use them on the C is for Crap challenge but never got around to it... mostly because I'm lazy but also because I wasn't sure where I stashed them.
