Mickey, Minnie, and two Hooters

The OWH midweek throwdown was to make Disney kids birthday cards. Oops! I goofed, and didn't make a birthday theme, but I'm sure this sentiment will bring smiles regardless. I don't have any Disney images, but I did have some snippets of Disney dsp that my sweet friend Donna sent me when I was making a Disney-themed scrapbook for my DGD. I just hand cut one of the shapes from the paper, and put it onto a die cut circle. I punched a polka dot bow with a Punch-a-Bunch, and trimmed it to make a bow-tie, adding black gems from Pizzazz Aplenty. The ribbon was from my stash, the sentiment is from SimonSaysStamp, and the embossing was done with a SU! decorative dots ef.

You can't have Mickey Mouse without Minnie Mouse, so here's the Minnie version. Click the image to enlarge and check out that big honkin' oval piece of bling! Cool huh? I recently won a prize from Pizzazz Aplenty that included a little bag of those oval gems, and they are amazing! It looks perfect in the center of Minnie's little bow :)

Here is my card for this week's OWH sketch challenge #221. I used some fabulous papers from WeRMemoryKeepers that my sweet friend Mary Anne shared with me, flipping them over for the coordinating patterns on the reverse side. Two SU! punched owls and a MFP sentiment later, this card was done! When the card is lying flat, the bottom owl is looking up, while the top owl is looking down, but when it stands to be photographed, they're both looking down :)

I'm entering these cards into the Snippets Playground #121 since I used leftover snippets on all of them!

I hope you're all enjoying a wonderful day, and if you're celebrating Easter I hope it's bunny-hopping fabulous! Thanks for stopping by!!

Carol

Delightful Micky & Minnie. Love the way you interpreted the Disney theme, with the subtle punching and all the cute details. I really like that a lot better than if you had used 'Disney stuff'! These are so adorable, and love Minnie's rhinestone headpiece. Cute idea to move the bow for each gender too. I think with the sentiment, each could very well serve as a birthday card. Works for me, anyway! Love your little hooter guys too. Such pretty paper & Mr. Google Eyes is dressed up so pretty in his little textured vest. TFS & Happy Easter. Hugs too.

Just the cutest Mickey and Minnie and those owls are too adorble. So, they are very tricky with their eyes, huh? Fun! The bling is very cool, too.

Hope your day has been wonderful. It seems we have been on the road all weekend and I'm exhausted. It was a gorgeous, sunny day in the low 80's.
