Catching Up with Challenges

Here's my take on this week's OWH Stars and Stamps sketch #217. I used this week's Dynamic Duos #DD95 colors of Rich Razzleberry, Soft Sky, and Pale Plum. The image is from Deedee Anderson called "Uneggspected." If you click the link, you can find all the details to get this cute digi set for a reduced price until the end of March. If you played along with Deedee's progressive challenge last month, you already received this image for free!
The gemstones are iridescent ovals I recently got in a prize package from Pizzazz Aplenty. They're a tad larger than I would ordinarily use, but they reminded me of eggs which seemed to work with this adorable image. The flowers were done with 2 SU! punches and I added them to the sketch because the card looked unbalanced to me without them.

The digi image was printed, hand-cut, and popped up on dimensionals, so I'm entering this card into the Mod Squad challenge to "cut it out" - hand cut an image without using dies.

Here's a card I made for the OWH midweek throwdown which was "circles galore!" I was in the midst of replacing an empty tissue box while I was reading about the challenge, and as I was flattening the box for disposal, I saw all of those great circles and decided to use a panel from the box for the challenge! LOL I cut it with a Top Note die and added some assorted brads and a SU! sentiment. The sentiment was cut with SU! chalk talk framelit dies and layered on a SB labels 2 die. I embossed the background with an old CB ef and added some red ribbon and navy twine with a few tiny heart stickers to finish this one.

I recently received this MB loopy circles die and made another background of circles using Prisma Papers in 3 shades of Azalea that I've had forever! I added some punched circles to fill in the spaces and cut the Inky Antics image & mat on a SB labels 4 die and decided to cut the bottoms off to make it fit without covering all the circles. I goofed and forgot to cut off more of the matted panel before putting it on the card base, but it was already stuck down and I couldn't remove and trim it. Oh well........it's "different!" LOL The sentiment is by SNSS and the ribbon was from my stash. I hope the child that receives this won't notice or even care about the mistake :)

I'm also entering this card into the Snippets Playground #117 since I used a lot of snippets for the punched circles.

I guess today's lengthy post makes up for not posting anything yesterday! lol Thanks for hanging in for this longer-than-usual post!

Have a great Sunday and thanks for checking in :)

Carol

Eek! I just love them all....where to start....! The first card is awesome because of its color combo. The second card is a no brainer for me, cause I love that sentiment! Card three is so cool with all of this bubbly circles. I was finding them on my floor, just this morning. I might have to buy that die soon! Nice job, Carol!

3 MORE fab cards. Definitely MoJo has not left your house! Inspired use of the tissue box. Really clever card. Loved all 3 of these beauties and of course that Inky Antics with the cute dogs grabbed my eye too. I'm not seeing anything wrong with your label 4...looks perfectly finely designed to my eye. Great idea with the loopy circles too. Go back to watching tv in your spare time. MoJo is still residing at your house!!! TFS & Hugs

I love what you did with Deedee's image and the colors are so pretty. I really like the ovals and the flowers also. Your second card really shows us how your mind is always working, using the tissue box. Great idea. Love all these circles on your third card. I may have to get this die now that I've seen your card here. Darling image and no one would ever know you wanted to cut off more of the die piece so don't let that even be a thought in your little creative head. LOL
Enjoy the race and the day.

Fun and colorful cards! I love that you salvaged the cool patterned card board for your red, white and blue card. I saved a piece of pretty packaging from some Clinique makeup and am planning to do the same thing!

Super cards, Carol. I love that you used that tissue box with circles. I'm been nutty over circles, lately. Your first card is so adorable. I'm sure a child will be loving that cute doggie on your last card. The circles on the last one remind me of blowing bubbles. Too cute!

Carol, all three cards are just adorable. I love the kitty in the egg and the color scheme on your first card. The kleenix box panel is brillant and really makes a fabulous background. Your last card is so cute! Love the image so much and the punched circles. I don't think the bottom portion of the labels 4 die look odd at all, I think it looks great. Fab job on all of your cards!

What a wonderful set of card! That middle one is the bestest I think. I love that you used a box of tissues as not only your inspiration but actually on the card.

All three of your cards are so pretty and creative! So clever to use a tissue box! And I have to tell you that you have been an enabler YET AGAIN! I just ordered the top note die from SU Because of you...smile...

Three wonderful cards! I do not see any errors...just three wonderful cards!4
Sometimes I think we are our own worst critics. What looks blinking in neon to us is often not noticed by others! Especially if they are not cardmakers!

I have to remind myself of that sometimes too...lol

Love every one of these and am amazed by the fab tissue box cover!
