OWH Super Card Bowl Challenges #2 & 3

Continuing on with the OWH Card Bowl 3-day challenge is the 2nd challenge - the February ODBD challenge - which is to make a card using the color brown. I used some kraft, dark brown, and a matching plaid for this, stamping with a MFP Southwest Cowboy set, and fussy cutting the image after clear embossing it. The card is pretty self-explanatory, but if you need any more details, shoot me an email and I'll be glad to answer them.

Here's my card for the 3rd & last of the OWH 3-day Card Bowl challenge, and this time it's their usual Sunday sketch challenge#210. Donna gave us a great sample of a masculine card for this week's sketch, plus she made a 2nd one, so be sure and check out her great cards! I used the colors of the Denver Bronco's team on my card for challenge #1, and since I already had those colors on my table, I just made another card with them today. The stars were done with Punch-a-Bunch and SU! punches, and the star borders were done with a SNSS die. The lettering was done with my Quickutz - quick and easy! I added one blue mini brad to the center of the largest star just for fun. I'm sure there are lots of dad's out there who are Bronco fans, so this will be a perfect fit for one of those special dads!

That's it for me, I'm going to try to clean my craft room a little bit today before the game. Who knows what I might find hidden in here :)

Have a great day, enjoy the game if you're going to watch it, and thanks for stopping by! Make it a great Super Sunday!

  1. Carol, this cowboy card is the perfect masculine card. I really like that plaid and the way you used your twine. Excellent cutting out of your cowboy also. Your second card is a super great Dad card. I really should get that border punch with the stars. I always like the way you present that punch. Love the font on DAD. Two more terrific cards for OWH. Have fun cleaning your craft room. I am always amazed at what I find lurking under other things in my room. LOL Let's hope we have an exciting game tonight.

  3. Your fussy cutting is great - I still have to keep practicing that one and I love how you embossed the cowboy! I also like that plaid paper. TFS.

  4. Love that cowboy card in browns and the other one is super, too, in those bright colors.

I sure don't know what I would find if I went through everything in my craft room. It would be surprising, I am sure.

  6. Wonderful cards, love the variety of feels and techniques! The cowboy is just fabulous, love the 3D twine and cowboy. The Bronco card hits the mark! Sharp colors, and strong contrast, really says energy, here's a Bronco win!

  7. Love these cards as well. Great designs.

I have one son whose wife is from Denver... Her family are huge Bronco fans. He, of course, is for the Seahawks. But he is such a positive guy. He called and said that no matter who wins today, "He can't lose!" Love it. He said this is his new logo:

  14. So what did you find hidden in your craft room? I had planned to watch a little of the game and then play but the game was so interesting. What happened to the Broncos? I felt so bad for Peyton, just nothing worked for them. I like both your manly cards but am partial to the western one. I have to admit that I missed that the second card were Broncos colors... duh!
