Another Snow Day
It's another snowy day here in eastern PA, so I thought it was appropriate to post this card today. I used a free digi image I have in my digi folder, and for the life of me, I couldn't find it this morning to give you the artist's name! If you know, please leave a comment and I'll edit the post to give the artist the proper credit.
I colored it with Copics, adding stickles to the snowflakes, and adding left over scraps of teal and light aqua dsp. I crimped the horizontal panel and added some PTI aqua mist ribbon to the MB frostyville border die, along with a light teal-colored snowflake brad with the last piece of ribbon on the roll. The tiny white snowflakes randomly placed on the image and background are negatives from the border die. I know how this poor bunny feels! All I want to do is dig a big hole, jump in, and not come out until warm weather finally gets here!
I'm entering this into the Snippets Playground #110. You can now find the link to the playground in a cool new badge on my sidebar :) Look for the keys!
Congrats to the Seattle Seahawks for winning the Superbowl! They played very well, steamrolling right over the Broncos who never could quite get into the game unfortunately. It was a disappointing loss for Denver, but you can't take anything away from the Seahawks who truly earned the win!
Our weather forecast: Snow today (8") with snow Tuesday night into Wednesday (up to 18") and an even bigger storm predicted for the weekend, with accumulation "measured in feet" instead of inches! Oh my, I'll be holed up until July at this rate! I wish I could send some of this snow to California where it's desperately needed!
On a side note - this will be another day of 24/7 weather & traffic reports droning on and on all day long on all the major TV networks! Does this happen in other areas of the country? How could anyone seriously think we need this non-stop blubbering about weather updates during every rain or snow storm we get? UGH! Paying for cable TV and having to endure this every time it rains or snows irks me to no end!! Anyone else with me on this?
And now for that groundhog............I have a bone to pick with him today too!!!
Stay warm, stay safe if you have to travel in the snow, and take good care! Thanks for stopping by today!
Carol
I'm hacked off at the Broncos ,the groundhog, the weather, my broken foot! Monday morning blues I guess. Your card fits my mood perfectly...I'll stay in my hole and craft to cheer me up. Hope you have a great day Carol.
ReplyDeleteCarol, what a cute digi....and perfect for you and your weather. You should just hibernate like a bear. Gosh, you're going to be piled to the rooftop with snow.
ReplyDeleteLove the aqua and white and that pretty snowflake die. I like how you used the negatives...really cute.
Grumble, grumble, grumble.... I sure would like to climb in a hole! Really cute card, Carol! Love the color, and the sprinkle of little flakes you added!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute!! I love the blues and the frosty snow die. So fun! Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLOL! Love the card Carol and of course that cute little digi. No idea who the artist was but it's a cutie - and so appropriate for y'all up there buried in the snow. Love that border die you used on here too.
ReplyDeleteThe game...what else can you say. It was good for the Seahawks and bad for the Broncos. Oh well.....Just wait until next year I guess.
More snow! YIKES!!!! I'd love just a little here - but not as much as y'all are getting. Hibernate for sure!
Lynn
Love the colors on this card, Carol. The negative snowflakes are just darling scattered around your card. The papers are gorgeous and I adore that MB die. I guess we are getting all the same storms as you, but not quite as much accumulation as you, or that is what they are saying right now. You know things could change in a minute. Yes we, too, get a lot of road conditions and weather reports, so we just watch reruns of NCIS and Bones. I'll be waiting for you to dig yourself out of your hole in your snow. LOL Try to enjoy your crafting time seeing as how you can't go out. I have to say that Jack is very happy though. LOL Talk soon.
ReplyDeleteAw, your sweet little bunny made me smile. I'm sorry the weather is so cranky. We could do with the moisture but would run amok if we had the snow to go with it, completely unsure of what to do next (do as the bunny does I say).
ReplyDeleteSuites the weather around here perfectly. Snow weighs 50 pounds per shovel full. 6" in front and back yards. Cute card lousy weather.
ReplyDeleteJust adorable! I'm feeling a bit like your bunny... Just want to bury myself in whole until it all melts. LOL Oh and yes I totally agree where the weather reports are concerned. I can't figure out when, how or why its's happened but somewhere over the years it seems like they've done their darnedest to turn a weather forecast into 'entertainment'. Ughhh! :(
ReplyDeleteSuper choice of colours for this card and the image is perfect. Hope he can tunnel out ok. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol - LOVE this cute snow day card - very appropriate for your weather. We have FINALLY got some crisp sunshine after MUCH wet stuff.
ReplyDeleteWell, as you know, discussing WEATHER is a national pastime for us Brits . . .yes, they do harp on about it a lot on the news channels.
Hugs, Sarn xxx
Totally adorable Carol - LOVE the little ears just peeking out. And the whole card is just perfect. No snow here but we have more high winds on the way overnight :(
ReplyDeleteThank you for grabbing the snippets button too :)
Hugs, Di xx
This is one of your cutest cards ever! Like the pretty colors, and the snowflake detail down the side of the card...and great colors...
ReplyDeleteSnow...more of it...Yikes...I have such cabin fever now...and I haven't been able to get together my weekly craft buddies, Cherie and Kathi now for over a month...we're all going stir crazy! At this rate it won't be until spring...
What a poster child your card is for what is happening in PA right now, Carol! Holy cow, what a winter you've had! I'm sorry about that, but I do think you made an adorable card!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your rant and agree with you! The worst is when they commandeer the TV for a couple of days before a major "event" and then the major event is just a fizzle. Too bad we aren't in charge of EVERYTHING, huh?!!
Hope you can stay in and safe coz it sounds like this time the storm is not a fizzle. Hugs, Darnell
How perfect is this icy card for the current weather you folks are having! You have captured the feel so totally! Plus it's plain beautiful. Liked your crimping & saving the negative snowflakes. Good on using the Playground button. I got it on mine too, but didn't think to put in a note about it! Good idea! You KNOW I'm with you on the 'drone-on' ...I think hourly updates are more than enough, and then only if conditions are changing rapidly. Same with the catatrophes that happen all over. Tell us about it, and leave it be...don't keep asking the man in the street how he feels about it! We think alike, my friend! Hugs & stay warm. Don't be like that bunny though.
ReplyDeleteI looooove this and the cool snowflakes!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks wonderful! Sweet image and gorgeous corner die.
ReplyDeleteThe bunnies will be running back into their tunnels here too as it was minus 8.5 last night and snow on the way this weekend.
Hi Carol, love this card - the digi image is just fabulous. I also like the ribbon treatment too. Sorry to see you are suffering so much snow ... hope you have a well-stocked store cupboard to keep you going until the thaw comes. Although it is sunny and bright here today we have been warned to expect snow any time soon ... just when I thought spring was on its way too. When will it all end? Elizabeth xx
