This week's mid-week throwdown over at the Stars and Stamps blog is to make Valentine cards. I've had this one made, and last night added it to my next OWH box which I plan to send within the next day or two.
I embossed the SU! smoky slate cardstock with a diamond pattern embossing folder (sorry, don't have the name) and used SU! Hearts A-Flutter stamps and dies for the banner and heart. The sentiment was done with a Quickutz and the final touch was to add a small white heart-shaped brad in the center of the heart. The banner was embossed with silver ep, while the heart was embossed with black, giving a nice contrast. This was a simple design, so I made several in different colors...
These cards don't have the traditional Valentine themed sentiment because if I should happen to mail them too late for Valentine's day, they can also be used for general love-themed cards.
Thanks for stopping by and sticking around for this longer-than-usual post. I wish you a wonderful day!
Carol

Great assortment of "Love" cards. The sentiment die is wonderful.
Beautiful 'love' cards, Carol. The embossing on those beautiful hearts and the pretty chevron ribbon on one of them really made them stand out. I love the sentiment.
the first is y fave...and I am so going to case this!
Carol, these are terrific and I always think it is a good idea to just do love cards, so they can be used all year long. I'm just getting ready to make a love card also. Enjoy your day.
Love the first card the most. I love the background embossing.
Have a great day.
These are stunning! The first one is my favorite for Valentine's. I love the banner and accent heart!

Love all 3 cards but especially the first one with the embossed background.
A whole lotta love going on here!! ALL are so pretty and there's no way to ever pick just one. Fantastic set of cards.

Great cards, Carol! I love this simple but chic design. The embossing on your first card really adds a lot of interest!
Nice set of cards! I really like the love die cut, it really adds such a nice dimension to your cards. I also really like how each card is slightly different. I agree, they will each be perfect for Valentine's or all year long!
I am so far behind on comments, that I will just say WOW! Yu have been so busy! They are all gorgeous! I hope I can get back in the swing of creating.
Great idea to make cards that are a variation on a single design. You don't have to reinvent the wheel for each card, yet each one is different enough to keep things interesting. Of these three, I like the purple one best. But they are all really nice.
Just popping in to see what you've been up to Sweet Lady! I see Valentines!! Yay! I started mine early this year too! These are soo Lovely Miss Carol! And I love the different combo's of colors too! 8-)
