Here's my take on the Perfect Sentiments PSC92 challenge to make a fall card with a sentiment on the front. I haven't made a mosaic design for a long time, so I snipped out random pieces of paper from the Lilybee Autumn Spice paper pad and went to work. To make the mosaic, I ran a strip of card through the Xyron, then randomly adhered the snippets of paper, leaving spaces between them. Afterward, I covered it all with gold embossing powder and heat set it. I embossed another piece of card stock with gold, then die cut the leaf using a SB die, and finished it with a jewel tag sentiment, twine, and some gold brads.
With all the snippets I used, I'll also be entering this into the Snippets Playground 90.
Fall officially arrives this weekend, and although it's my favorite time of the year, it's a little sad to know the warm weather will soon be gone for many weeks to come. I'll miss those evenings spent sitting on the front porch visiting with neighbors and enjoying the longer hours of daylight until nearly 9 PM.
Enjoy your day and have a fantastic weekend! Happy Fall Y'all!
Carol
Stunning card! I am already missing the daylight!
ReplyDeleteLove your mosaics, Carol. You are so good with that type thing. Such a pretty Fall creation.
ReplyDeleteWhen hubby and I go to the park to walk in the afternoon, we are really losing daylight earlier and earlier. Don't like it.
Gorgeous! What a cool technique, I don't think I've ever seen this....I must try it!
ReplyDeleteCarol, this is slap dab gorgeous! Love that mosaic and especially in the beautiful patterned paper you used. Very pretty leaf too and a perfect design.
ReplyDeleteIf you get to where you start missing that nice warm weather, come on down here!

This is just lovely. I love the mosaic design and your gold leaf is just sparkling. Those little tags are a fabulous embellishment/sentiment. I know what you mean about missing the longer days and sitting outside. I will miss that also. Enjoy your day, my friend.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. Love the gold mixed.
ReplyDeleteBe blessed, Beckie

ReplyDeleteI can see I am going to have lots to do, with all the great ideas you have been throwing out here. The mosaic looks so fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThis mosaic technique is new to me, so thoroughly enjoyed reading the how-to's. It is just beautiful, and your fall leaf is very realistic looking. I hear you about losing our porch time. We've just begun to be able to enjoy ours after the summer heat, then the mosquitos. We'll have a few weeks yet - I hope - to enjoy the slow twilight. We noticed today that some of the area trees are just beginning to get some color. TFS a gorgeous card. Hugs
ReplyDeletehun, this is sooooo brilliant!
ReplyDeleteespecially your mosaic-bg is awesome!

hugs and kisses from germany,

Holy cow, you must have spent an awful lot of time on that mosaic! I thought it was some fancy schmancy designer paper before I started reading! I miss my porch time too, I thought I was going to get some last night, but the mosquitoes had other ideas.
ReplyDeleteFabulous use of snippets and a gorgeous "fall" card resulting from them.
