Here's the sketch for OWH's Stars & Stamps weekly sketch challenge #178.
And after straying far, far away from the sketch, I ended up with this card. I learned how to make this fun bird yesterday using the SU! bird punch, and decided I'd make one for today's sketch challenge. Since this feathered friend was so large, I had to alter the sketch to make it work. The 2 elements on the side got lost with "big bird" so I added a 3rd which balanced things out a little better. I think it will bring a smile to the recipient whether I followed the sketch or not :) I love being able to get more mileage from all the punches I own!
Since I used snippets of pink to create the bird, I'm entering this into Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground #78.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone!!

Way to put your punch to a great use! Super fun! tfs!!!
How cute is that? Wonderful!! And the eye is too fun! I think it's a great take on the sketch, which is just an inspiration, after all. I hardly ever do them exactly.
OMGosh, what a hoot! I am home and ready to craft. Just need a short rest first! Love this pink dude!
OMGoodness!!!! As cute as cute can get! Love your "big bird" and to think it was all done with punches! Perfect!!! Great looking background papers to go with him too!
Hope you're having a fun day!

Your flamingo is soooo fun! Totally made me smile! And I like your 3 flowers....such a big bird can carry off more embellishments!
Super cute card and your bird is precious. Great job with your punches and I love those eyes. Terrific choice of papers also. Hopefully I can get to make a card tonight.
Way to own the sketch! Great job!
Hilarious - what a fun bird! Totally love this Carol :) And the huge eye is perfect.
Hugs, Di xx
That punch is a great investment! This bird made me smile. :)
This is a hoot! Love the flamingo and you're right, the three flowers is a much better balance for such a big bird!
Such a cute flamingo! Cathy x
This really will be loved by the recipient, Carol! It's so clever and a fab snippets make! I'm trying to figure out how you did the neck and legs and think it must be the Fisker's flower punch? I'll have to see what I have that can make this work, well, besides my hand, a pencil, and some scissors! I so addicted to punches and dies now that I never even think that maybe I could do something the old-fashioned way! Any woodle, it's too darling an idea not to try and CASE!!
