OWH Challenges

Here's this week's OWH Stars & Stamps sketch #176...

and here's my card, done with Echo Park dsp, PTI Enchanted Evening & SU! Summer Starfruit card stock. The sentiment is by G Studio, ribbon by PTI, and the accents at the bottom are pieces of cardstock done with a SU! owl punch and pressed into a mousepad with the eraser end of a pencil, then popped up on foam tape. The embossed panel was done with a Sizzix curlycue ef.

The midweek throwdown challenge this week is "water." I heat embossed the SNSS image, sponged it with Pacific Point ink, then sponged the sky with Ranger Tumbled Glass ink. The background panels were embossed on Pacific Point cardstock with a Tim Holtz woodgrain ef, as they reminded me of still waters. I haven't decided on a sentiment for this one yet, so I may just leave it blank.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful day!

Carol

Two more great cards. Love the way you made the embellishments at the bottom on that first card. The second one is gorgeous!!! Beautiful image and a perfect sea scene!

Oh, you're so good at making your own brads. Great card, too. Gosh, I love your 'water' card and you sponged the sky so pretty. Fab work, Carol.

Great job on both! I have to try your pencil eraser brads.... Looks like we were both thinking along the same lines for the MWTD. :-)

AS always, great job on your cards. I especially like your "water" card. I have that image, and have not been able to stamp a good image with it. I must give it a try again, you have definitely inspired me. Hope you are having a great weekend!

Nice work on both of these Carol. That sponged sky is fabulous as is the reflection in the water. That is one terrific masculine card design. you're inspiring me to rediscover heat embossing.

I'm way behind on commenting, sorry. Two outstanding cards. I could not wrap my head around either of these two challenges, but I see that was not your problem. You did an outstanding job with both. Heading outside now, talk to you soon.

Both cards are great, and very summery. I like how how made your own brad-type embellishments for the first card.

Ha! Once again I'm echoing Donna. Maybe we're twins separated at birth? lol.

Seriously, I couldn't make that sketch work for me at all, but you really rocked it. As for the second card, WOW!!! Your technique is awesome and I never would've thought of using wood for water, but it so works! Two great cards!

How cool that you made your own "brads"! I like the texture the embossing adds to the card. The second card...great job on the way you did the sky and water. I'm afraid of stamps like that because I'm must not sure what to do. Thanks for the inspiration!
