I've been going through my stash of designer papers and scraps, and trying to use up the retired stuff I've been hanging onto for so long! It's overwhelming to have so much unused product, and spring cleaning works for my crafting supplies as well as it does for the home!
I used some retired SU! dsp along with Taken with Teal card stock. I found a long-unloved MS border punch and put that to work for the horizontal teal panel. I thought the 4-petal flowers coordinated perfectly with the 4 petal flowers in the dsp. I stamped the SU! sentiment with an obviously dried-up ink pad that I'm now going to part with. The large button was done with a MS punch with some Rose Red card stock, while the smaller ones were done with a SU! sizzlet. The twine is recycled from an order I received in the mail and perfectly matches the teal color.
I'm entering this card into the OWH stars and stamps midweek throwdown challenge to create thank-you cards for our heroes. I also used the Retro sketch #61 for my card, so I'll be linking up there as well.
Since it's the first day of May, it's time to share Heidi's May calendar page with you and here it is....
Happy May Day everyone - thanks for stopping by!!

I love the Taken with Teal against the white and the embossing and flowers in the paper do work together so nicely. Very pretty card. On to Heidi's calendar page. Just as sweet as the previous months. Love that little bee in the center of the quilt pattern. Great sentiment also. Just another great page to proudly display. Way to go both of you, Carol and Heidi.
I am in admiration that you are using up your stash...I should follow your example! This is a lovely cheery card, and your teal border was a superb choice with that paper. The combo really zinged I think. The pop of the red button really set off the teal. TFS & I just became your newest follower, and thanks for your visit to my blog & taking time to leave a sweet comment.
Great job using your stash! I love the teal with the raspberry!
The embossed border is totally awesome...almost looks like ruffles. tfs!!!
Such a pretty card in those colors, Carol!! I love my Taken w/ Teal pad and will never part with it but it seems to stamping in a funky color these days! LOL Great use with the paper & unloved punch too!
Your calendar from Heidi is awesome! She does beautiful work and your one lucky lady to receive such a pretty set!
Hope your enjoying the nice weather today? I am relaxing for the moment, trying to catch up on blog commenting!
Very pretty card, Carol! So many pretty details and teal is one of my favorite colors!!
Way to work that sketch, Carol. Looks great! Love how the buttons are paper.
Heidi makes the best calendar pages for you to enjoy. The quilt theme is awesome!
I love this colorful card. I'm getting a small box to put my old ink pads into. The way SU is bringing back old colors, you never know; and that is such a pretty color. Good job cleaning out your stash.
Great design, Carol, and wonderful use of the colors. Taken With Teal has always been a fave of mine! Ah, you are a great source of inspiration to me to get more SERIOUS about using my stuff!!!!
Great card and how wonderful you're using up your scraps. I sure need to do that. The die cut buttons are all so cute.
Love Heidi's calendar with the pretty quilt theme..what a perfect sentiment.
Wow, using up scraps instead of always buying new paper? THERE'S a concept, lol. Seriously, I always enjoy seeing what you've done and you really managed to put all these things together so well! The teal really pops against the white and the four petals are wonderful with that paper. I also love the rose color on the buttons. GREAT JOB as always.
Love those buttons!!! With the Taken with Teal, they really pop. Great choice of paper and using up scraps at the same time! I think Taken with Teal is one of my favorite colors too.
Another wonderful calendar page - and you get to look at it all month long. She does such beautiful work.

Such a worthy goal - to use up retired stuff. I'm always afraid to use it up because I might need it someday so I end up never using it and my stash never stops growing!! It's a real problem! I love that paper - it is so sweet and so cheerful when paired with the teal and rose.
Pretty card...I like the way you used the small button dies and the real button.
You did a fabulous job of tying everything together...the colors, the flowers...it just looks great!
Great job with using up your scraps, and you are so right. Heidi ROCKS!
I am loving your scraps!!! The buttons are a cool touch!
