His and Hers

I made these cards for the previous OWH Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown. I'm playing catch-up so these are coming in just a day before the newest throwdown is posted. Where does the time go??

The challenge was to make 2 cards - one for him and one for her. I switched up the colors, and sentiment fonts, but everything else is pretty much the same design. I used the SU! honeycomb embossing folder, along with hand-cut snippets of assorted patterned papers for both cards. Hers is white, his is vanilla. The sentiments are both from SU! and I added a ribbon brad to each card, and looped some twine through them in place of ribbon to reduce bulk. I also added some geo sparkler stickers to each card, along with some colored mini brads to his card.

Since I used snippets on both cards, I'm also entering these cards into Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground #72.

Here's wishing you a great day, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Carol

I'm glad to see I'm not the only person that runs behind on some challenges. These cards are fabulous. I've never heard of ribbon brads. See I learn something from you every day. You cut those hexagon pieces better than a punch. I admire the patience you have to sit and do that. I tried it and it's not easy, not for me anyway. I love that you used what looks to be newspaper fro the "guy" card and even managed to squeeze the word "sport" in there. I like the extra baby brads on the "girl" card. Two winners, Carol. I

Exxxcellent job on both cards, Carol! It really is fun to whip up one for the girls and one for guys at the same time. I love your design for these beauties and how easy you make it look to just switch out the papers! Inspiring!!

Wow, two fabby cards here! Love the way you rang the changes with the same design - and great use of that wonderful hexagon EF. Ribbon brads? Never heard of those before though - they look and sound like fun.

Cool cards, Carol. I especially like the hexagons with the text. Looks very masculine. Of course, pink is perfect for the girls.
