More Hexagons
Here's another card I made using more hand-cut hexagons cut from scraps. I emboss the designer paper bits with the same SU! honeycomb ef and just use the embossed ridges as a cutting guide for snipping them apart. It's fun to place them in random patterns on the embossed panel for different looks. I used a big sentiment for this because a smaller one would get lost in the midst of so many patterns in the background. I added a black ribbon underneath the sentiment banner which I hand cut from real red cardstock.
I posted 3 cards similar to these yesterday, and decided to make an even dozen for my next OWH box. For these versions, I used the SU! honeycomb ef for the background instead of dsp, and added random scraps of BoBunny Timepiece dsp that were too tiny for anything else. All of the vertical strips were cut from scraps and embossed with a CB Clockworks ef. Here's a picture of all 12 cards...
I'm trying to re-think the way I make cards for OWH and make at least 10 of the same card in assorted colors if possible. I put a note on them after I bundle them that says "All The Same" so that they don't need to be sorted before packing to ship out. Dixie showed us how to do that on her blog and I thought it was a great time saver for our shippers, so I'm labeling mine the same way now. Making each bundle of the same design makes it easy to get more cards done too, because you cut all your elements at one time before putting them together.
That's it for me today, so thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend too!

Wowzers Carol, I LOVE the card with all the different hexagons! Great mix of papers and I just adore the color combo! Your sentiment finishes this off just perfectly!
Your set of Clockworks cards are perfect as well!! I'm sure they will be much appreciated! Nice job!
Hope all is well with you? Things are calming down now that i'm done for the summer with watching Dominic 3 days a week. I hope to get back to crafting this week as long as I can find my mojo!
Have a wonderful weekend, my friend!
Really cute and clever Carol, I like how you did that card. I wondered what you used to hand cut all those hexagons...very clever to emboss the designer paper. Could be used for other designer paper too. Thanks for the hint.
Also thank you for the link to Dixie's blog. One of the questions someone posted at Dixie's blog, was something like ideas to write in the any hero mail. I'm never sure what to write either...Do you know of a link with ideas...Thanks for reading...and Hope you have a great day...Hugs, Jill
FABULOUS Carol! I've got that EF and am itching to use it - you did brilliantly.
Err, did you use snippets? :)
Hugs, Di xx
WooHoo!!! You've been BUSY! Each and every one of them is just awesome too! That's a lot of little hexagons to be cutting out - but they're so pretty so it was worth the time and effort.

I'm worn out just thinking about making this many card so quickly. I love that big sentiment on the hexagon card...you're right, just what it needed. Great clock cards for OWH.
I know how you love doing the tedious work as a calming therapy. The hex card is super amazing, and I see you were a crafting machine with you clock cards. Have a great weekend, and I will see you when I get back. Hugs!
