I'm entering this Valentine into the Simon Says Stamp challenge which is to "Have a Heart." I used some strips of Echo Park dsp to make a herringbone pattern, and then die cut it with the solid heart from the SSS exclusive Thank You Heart Die pair for the largest heart, adding a piece of ribbon to one side. I used a SU! punch for the smaller heart, and also used a strip of matching dsp for the sentiment panel. The embossing was done with a hearts and curlique ef by Sizzix on some pink card stock from my stash. The ribbon came from my LSS, and I matted with some black and soft grey card stock.
I had enough of the herringbone design left over for one small element, so I cut another heart with my SU! heart punch and used it with this piece of Echo Park dsp from the same pack. I wondered how I'd use piece of dsp with the large image and fonts, but I decided it would work perfectly with this small heart snippet I had left over. Therefore, I'm entering this card into Pixie's Crafty Workshop Snippets Playground for week #58. I have two cards with no left-over pieces to store - SNAP! I love when that happens. That's also the end of this bright pink ribbon too!
Wishing you a happy Wednesday, and thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping!

Carol, both are GREAT! Love all the white space in that second card and the first is gorgeous!!! (I think I just got through using that same sentiment on a card I just completed!)

Great cards, Carol. You do herringbone so well. And how wonderful you had enough of the design left over for that second card. That is an eye-catching creation. You played it just right to not have left overs. Good for you!
Carol you do such a fabulous job with the herringbone. You always pick the perfect papers to use. Both cards are just delightful. As usual, a job well done my friend.
stunning Carol - it's also such a lovely feeling to FINALLY use something up. I bet we don't do it very often though. The herring bone is brilliant Hugs, Di xx
