Winter Pines

Here's my entry for this week's Simon Says Stamp challenge which is "Merry Christmas!" I used the SU! sets Winter Watercolors and More Merry Messages for this card, embossing the sentiment with gold ep. I just love the fancy decorative fonts on the word Christmas. The pines were done with old olive ink stamped off once, and I added liquid applique to look like snow. The pine cones were done with soft suede ink, and dotted with gold stickles for a little sparkle.

Yesterday I decided to give my craft room a thorough cleaning, and while doing that, I thought it would be a great time to re-ink my inkpads, and re-fill my Copics. Would you believe I re-filled my Wasabi (my favorite green inkpad) with Celery reinker?! OY!! Here's some good hind-sight advice......don't ever re-ink 2 different shades of the same color at the same time! I almost did it again later with chocolate chip and soft suede inks too! Can you say S.C.A.T.T.E.R.B.R.A.I.N.?! LOL

Thanks so much for stopping by and make it a great Friday!

Carol

Okay, you want my list?

Hello Carol, (Miss Scatterbrain) LOL This is gorgeous. The decorative font is beautiful and so classy. Like Lynn, I missed this set also. Your touches of liquid applique really make it all look so real.
Thanks for the "What-Not-To-Do" lesson. See I can come to you for everything: to do's and not to dos. LOL Enjoy the weekend.

Wowsa this card is so classy and elegant, perfect simplicity. Love love love the font and the pine branch/pine cones are just right. Lol at the cartoon and those tags from the other day are great. I believe I recognize those deer from the incredible box of goodies I was lucky enough to get when I won your blog candy a little bit ago. Awesome box of crafty goodies. Thanks again!

This card is fabtastic, Carol! I still have my pine cone/ branches card from a few days ago and I'm going to go and add some "snow" to it! What a great idea!

Sorry you did a bone-head move there with your reinkers. I'm so sure I have no idea what that feels like. Ahem.

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!! Darnell

Ouch! I can imagine you were very upset with your Copic ordeal. I'll try to remember that and NOT do it.

Your card is just beautiful. I love pine and the snow is such a bonus.

Fun cartoon, too. LOL
