Winter Vibes
Here's my card for Oozak's challenge #8 which is "winter vibes." I stamped the SU! deer image on some glossy metallic paper with Versamark and embossed with gold ep, adding Viva pearl pen accents to his antlers. I cut the image with a SB labels 2 die, and matted with cherry cobbler, adding gold mini brads to the corners. The background was a pre-printed scrapbook punch out by Cosmo Cricket that I've had for years, and the subtle snowflakes and colors worked perfectly with this image. The sentiment was also pre-printed.
Here's Heidi's November calendar page for all of you Heidi fans out there :) That whimsical cow leaping over the autumn leaves just makes me smile every time I look at it! Thanks for another month of enjoying your amazing creations Heidi - I just love this one :)
I rarely get personal here, but today I've just got to say how grateful I am that we only have a few more days to endure this constant flood of annoying political ads on tv that are rapidly making me dislike every candidate that's running for office! I hate to answer my phone anymore because I get a daily diet of political robo-calls that send me into fits of anger! Who's the "genius" that came up with the idea to constantly harass us via telephone too?! The endless flow of glossy printed flyers that fill my mailbox every day and get tossed directly into the trash without reading - can you imagine what it costs to print them? The money spent for this aggravating & annoying nonsense could be well-spent elsewhere to help so many in serious need! Do these candidates really (I mean seriously) think this will encourage anyone to vote for them? They suffocate me with their relentless advertising! Sorry everyone, I just have to vent my frustration because I'm fed up with the ugly tactics used to gain political office. It's just gotten ridiculous!!
(ok, I'm stepping down from my soapbox now before I scare you all away)
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can make it a great weekend. Keep the folks on the east coast in your prayers and help wherever you can. They're suffering so much and desperately need our support!

Carol, that deer never looked to good. I love the pearl drops and that cherry cobbler paper really looks rich. I know it's only the 3rd of the month but I was anxiously waiting to see the November calendar page. The background paper and the embossing along with the fabulous awning colors are perfect for this time of year. That cow is just precious. Thank you for sharing it with us and thank you Heidi for this wonderful creation.
I'm with you, I can't wait until Wednesday morning and hopefully it will be all over. Enjoy this weekend.
Such a gorgeous card Carol and love the calendar page too. I'm with you on political advertising - some is fine but surely a little research would show that robo calls are ineffective!
Love the deer card! Those pearl accents on it just make it so elegant and lovely.
Of course the calendar for this month is awesome! Love the leaves and that cow is much too precious!
On politics!!! Way to GO!! I think you just said what everyone is feeling right now - and no, we don't answer the phone either - unless we have too and am so tired of seeing it all in the paper and on TV! Will be so glad when it's all said and done. You get to the point where you don't really care who wins or looses!

Carol your card is gorgeous (as all of your creations). I love the calendar too, as I'm kind of new to your blog, please tell me more about Heidi. The reason I'm so intered (besides that I like it) it's because I have to teach a class abaout calendars at my work (Public Library) and I'm looking for ideas, suggestions, etc. Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Your deer antlers are fabulous and the colors you used maked it look like a real wintry, snowy day. I love your card.
Those calendars from Heidi are always a delight to see. How cute this is with the cow.
Good to vent and get something off your chest, isn't it? I will be sooooooo glad when Tuesday is over. Unfortunately, that may not be the end of it. Who knows? It will at least be the end of campaigning. Yea!
Carol, I love your deer with the Viva pearls! Clever!!
Amen to the end of the political race!
Both great cards! Thanks for joining us at Oozak challenges.
Your dear card is lovely, and Heidi's calendar page is fabulouse (as always)
and ditto to all you said in regard to the election!
