Shopping from my Stash for Two Cards

Here's my card for the OWH Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown anniversary challenge to make an anniversary or love card. I punched a black piece of cardstock with an EK graceful heart edger, then added some negative pieces cut from a SB contemporary hearts die. I hooked them together to make a border of hearts in turquoise and white. The embossing was done with a Sizzix Curlique & Hearts embossing folder, and the sentiment was done with SNSS Christmas tags set.

The Shopping our Stash #72 challenge this week is tic-tac-toe. Click the link and use their grid to chose 3 items to add to your card. I chose the top line of "brad, kraft, and embossing."

I made a masculine birthday card using this great image from the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Visual Artistry set. I stamped the truck with Versafine onyx black, and embossed it with clear detail ep, then sponged with antique linen and edged with a fine black marker before die cutting with a SB labels 18. I added some washi tape from Recollections randomly on the background which was embossed with a SB kickin rubber M-bossabilities folder. I lightly sponged the raised parts of the background with memento london fog ink. The sentiment was embossed and sponged like the image using a SNSS birthday sentiment. I die cut it using a SB grommet tag and added a couple gold brads. I decided to add some gold brads to the truck tires just to balance things out. This will make a great card for an old timer who loves those antique trucks, like someone's grandfather :)

That's it for me today, and it was great to have you spend a few minutes of your day with me :)

Lovely details Carol. It is amaZing how the pretty embossing adds the special touch! That heart chain card is super cool-you need to make this up in craft and red for Valentines! Awesome!

Look at you go with all these cards this week. I love that embossing with the heart border punch and the way your hooked the hearts together was just brilliant. Your second card is the perfect card for an antique car or truck lover. Great idea to use strips of patterned paper under your image and sentiment. The brads are just perfect. Your sponging on the embossing really makes it stand out nicely. Have a relaxing evening.

Absolutely beautiful cards Carol! Love the blue in the first one and I agree, the locking hearts is so cleverly done. I love everything about the second card. Your use of the Washi Tape is brilliant, and one I'll have to borrow. The brads in the tires in THE perfect touch!

Carol, I am always amazed at your cards. I love it when you do embossing and border punches like your first card. Simply beautiful.

I just got the SB kicking rubber folder in a couple of days ago and I really like what you did with it for your second card. I also really like the SB labels die for the vintage truck.

Both cards are fabulous! Great job!

First, your interlocked hearts idea is pure genius. Now I need the Spellbinders die so I can use the negatives! ACK! Make it stop!

Okay. Your card for SOS is wonderful, too. I admire your steady hand with the outline. Actually, I love the whole card!
