October Calender Page and a Masculine Birthday

Here's Heidi's October calender page. and it makes me smile every time I look at it! That kitty with the bag on it's head is just too funny, and look at those giant whiskers! I love the googlie eyes on the roof with the felt spider web. Click the photo to enlarge it and you'll see the detail a bit better.

Here's a birthday card I made for a friend of my husband's who loves motorcycles. The "frame" was a leftover piece from die-cutting a top note that I made for another card (which I'll post later.) I used the herringbone technique for that frame using kraft, black & white cardstock and designer papers. The motorcycle is a SU! image, and I added some "dirt" beneath it with a SNSS grunge borders stamp set and some antique linen ink. I "colored" the motorcycle with a black spica pen which looks much better IRL, and finally added some punched stars, mini star brads, and some faux stitching.

Here's wishing you a great Friday - thanks for stopping by :)

That calendar is waaay too cute. I love the kitty with the bag on its head. Great friend you have to give you those each month.

I love your masculine card and you are the best at making the herringbone pattern. It's a super card.

Carol (Heidi) outstanding calendar page. Love those eyes and spider (felt is the only kind of spider I can handle-LOL) That cat with the bag is just precious and I love the background paper also. Your motorcycle card is just terrific. I love the kraft/black and white combo. Your "dirt" came out perfect and the stars are a great little addition. Hope you have a great day today.

That Heidi is something else! Tell her I still miss her blog! Another great page from her. I'm sure this is a calendar to treasure.
I love the motorcylce card. Perfect card for a guy. I really like the look of the herringbone techique, it's on my list to do, I keep believe I haven't tried it yet, the way I like to do IF, it always reminds me of that technique. Hope you have a great weekend...Hugs, Jill
