Catching up with Challenges

The challenge over at the CASual Fridays CFC72 is to "toot your own horn." In other words, design a card based on your own blog header. I really don't have a blog header, but the template I use has blue skies with white clouds, so that's how this card came to be. The smiley face is by Stampendous, and the sentiment is from SU! So Many Sayings. The punched stars were done with SU! bashful blue card stock.

This is for the MFP Speedy Fox & Friends Challenge #127 which is "circles." I cut assorted sizes of circles with black & white card stock and glued them on a piece of kraft, then embossed it using a square lattice ef. I added a scalloped border, some ribbon and a sentiment from SU!

Next up is my card for Shopping our Stash challenge #71 which is to "go green - use something recycled or the color green." I recycled some scraps of green dsp for this and added a green prima flower I've had in my stash for years! I cut squares and rounded off 2 corners to create the flower and used random strips of dsp for the sentiment panel. The sentiment is by MFP Thankful Mums and Pumpkins set. I need to make more of these to use up those scraps and flowers in my stash!

Speaking of using up scraps, here's my card for the OWH Stars and Stamps mid-week throwdown to make a "thinking of you" card. I made a herringbone background by using strips from the Tim Coffey Autumn paper pad, and punched the really rust border using an EK punch. I added colorful leaves and acorns by punching the border in different autumn colors of scraps. The leaf accents are stickers a friend gave me, and the sentiment is from SU! Field Flowers.

Thanks for staying with me for this long post and I wish you a wonderful Wednesday!

Carol

Gosh Carol, you've been a busy bee. Love all your cards from herringbone all the way back up to the happy faces. They're all super duper. I really love that circle card. Don't know how I would ever choose which I like best.

Carol, You have certainly caught up on your challenges and given us all some wonderful inspiration in doing so. Every one of these cards are fabulous. I just did a card very similar to your third card, but yours looks 110% better than mine and I'm sure it's because you used the black layer behind the dp. Great thought and one I will be casing.
Enjoy your day.

How awesome are all of these! Wowzer, my friend! Don't know where to start, so I will just say that my jaw is dragging, and that I thought of you when I pinned a card with snowflakes just like your circles. The little stars put a smile on my face, and the green flower, I might case. That herringbone is way cool!

Oh my goodness Carol! I don't know where to start. I struggle so much with CAS but you have mastered it! I'm so glad you said how you made the green card. I have to CASE it for sure! In fact, I'll probably be CASEing the first three in my quest to improve my CAS card making.
