I decided to make some cards for the Unity Stamp WCMD challenges found here. This is the first time I've played along with them, because I was recently given a few of their adorable stamps by a thoughtful & sweet friend :) Unity stamps are required for these challenges, so my cards don't have sentiments, but I hope the challenge police will go easy on me :)
This is for the Unity WCMD #2 challenge to add 2 different textures to your card. I loved this adorable chick with the matching umbrella and boots, so I added texture by layering 2 SB die cuts with white & pink cardstock, and adding some old "raindrops" that I bought at a craft show years ago. I don't even know who made them, as they were out of the original wrapper. The ribbon was from my stash, and the pink striped dsp is from the Crate Paper pretty party paper pad. (say that 10 times)
This card is for Unity's WCMD challenge #3 to use embossing. I heat embossed the image and dry embossed the dsp, so I think I got the challenge covered. The butterfly was first embossed with gold ep, and then I used a versamark pen to fill in the body and wing centers, and embossed again to fill in those spaces with gold. The rest of the butterfly was done with turquoise stickles and 4 gold square brads to complete the ATC center. The background is gold glitter paper from the Mariposa DCWV stack, and I embossed it with an ef from the CB decorative tiles set.
This is for the Unity #8 challenge which is to use the colors of cream, brown, olive, and pumpkin. I started by making a herringbone background with SU dsp and cardstock, then layered it with chocolate chip. The fancy scalloped border was done with a SU! punch. The flowers were masked and stamped 3 times on cream colored linen cardstock and colored with markers. I used a labels 10 SB die to cut them, and added some creamy mini pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty. The orange trim and cream card stock were from my stash.
It was fun playing along with some of their WCMD challenges and I may get time to create a few more since they don't have to be completed until October 20th! Check out all of the challenge details here.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

OMGosh, Carol! I am so glad you played. I never did a post with so many cards before! I love the chick in goulashes! The rain drops are awesome! Woo Hoo!
Oh you Busy Beaver! This little chick is cute as a button and I love those rain drops. Your two dies go so well together. Lot of work went into your second card (of course you always put a lot of effort into all of your cards). The butterfly in just stunning and the square brads really add a nice touch. Your third card is just gorgeous and the colors are spectacular. I love the papers in your herringbone strip. three winners my friend. I'm trying to get a second card done today and you've already made three and are still going. Can you send some of your energy my way please? LOL
Enjoy your week.
O.K., my tongue is twisted trying to say that 1 time..no where near 10. LOL
Gorgeous cards...love the raindrops. Is that the breast cancer symbol on the butterfly? The flowers, colors, herringbone..all gorgeous on that last card. Super work going on at your house, Carol.
All are sensational!!!

The second one - LOVE! Another fantastic image and that embossing folder makes my heart flutter! Beautiful.
The third one - Oh yeah!!! LOVING those colors together, another gorgeous image, beautiful frame and of course the herringbone!! Fantastic!
Great set of cards!

Great work, Carol. I got hooked on Unity stamps when I won a couple this time last year. Be careful- they can be addictive! That little chick is one of my favorites and I just love the addition to the raindrops! Thanks for sharing and good luck!
