Here's my card for challenge #10 for the OWH Stars and Stamps VCMP for the Labor Day weekend. Kathryn hosted a great challenge for us to make a card that represents the state we live in. I've lived my entire life in the state of Pennsylvania, and our nickname is "the Keystone state" so I used the keystone symbol as well as the state colors of blue and gold. The stamp is by G studio, embossing was done with the SU! square lattice ef, and the dsp is Offbeat by BG.
It looks like the picnics will be rained out for this Labor Day holiday here in PA. We have heavy rains and storms predicted for the day, but we're having a couple friends over, so we'll be comfy and dry indoors :)
Wishing everyone a fabulous Monday and a great week ahead!
Carol

Yay for PA!
Wonderful take on the keystone state! Did you ever wonder if there were any other states that call themselves by their initials? "P"-"A"....is kinda weird. People from New Jersey don't say, "I'm from N J, do they?" I don't people from Delaware don't say "I'm from D E"!!!! Just thinking out loud here!!! Love my PA!
This card is very nice, Carol, and that sentiment is can't be more true. I don't think it matters where your company eats your food, indoors or out, I'm sure will will be delicious. I've have a sample of your baking and you won me over after just one bite, so I know your cooking has to be just as great. If I was closer you'd have to set the table for one more. LOL.
enjoy today my friend.
What a wonderful card! I love the embossing on the keystone. Enjoy your day inside... and send some rain my way, please!
Great card! Love the PA colors.
...totally LOL'ing at LeAnne's comment above. She's right...why do we do the letter thing and nobody else does?
Lovely take on the "state" challenge! And there it is again...I keep seeing that particular SU embossing folder on cards that I love...I think I'm going to have to get that one! TFS!
Great card Carol! I love the background pattern and for some reason I associate PA and quilts in my mind so it's perfect... at least to my thinking. Nice the way you embossed your keystone too.
Keystone - why didn't I think of that??? I went through all my scenic stamps, couldn't find a thing. I was tempted to just make an old car and say I was from the land of antique car shows...lol.. Then I found my buggy stamp, which I know I've used before, but maybe no one remembers. Nice job on the keystone and that's a very pretty sentiment stamp too!
her cucumber salad is really yummy, too, Donna! Trying to get Jim off to the airport, and then camping in for the next few days with my sidekick Jessie! It is over 100 degrees in Louisiana, and he is not looking forward to this. I will stay right here in good old PA, rain and all. Love your clever keystone. It's just awesome! Have a great picnic!
So pretty Carol! Great way to say "hi" to your state!
Sorry about the bad weather you're having but hope your day turns out great anyway.

Nice card Carol! I never even thought about what LeAnne said before, but it is true! Well, we ARE unique, that's for sure! :)
What a great take on thie challenge! Nicely done! I'm kind of enjoying the rainy day...My daughter and family came to visit, and then I sat down to make cards...nice and quiet in my neighborhood. Happy Stamping...
Great color and texture combinations. I grew up just a few miles from the PA line, and remember that blue and gold license plates!
Thanks for playing along. You are so creative to use the keystone shape. It's such a great reference to PA! :)
Very clever take on PA! Yahoo for a great state.

Very nice card you did a great job thanks for sharing!!!
Good job on your state card, Carol, and a 'so true' sentiment. Labor Day here was mostly an ugly one..storms the day before and some rain yesterday. Looks as if summer is behind us...almost Ugh!
