My husband will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow, so I made this card for him. The gorgeous metallic papers came from my friend Heidi - who sent me the DCWV Naturals paper pad (along with the DCWV Linen Closet pad.) I tore into both pads as soon as I got them and made cards. I loved the brick pattern on this, so I got out my EK bricked pattern punch and made the turquoise panel to match. I lined it with a darker piece of metallic paper from the stack, and used some leftover pieces from the Linen Closet paper I cut into for yesterday's card.
I embossed the Inkadinkado sentiment with clear detail ep after stamping with Versamark Onyx Black ink, and colored the letters with a turquoise marker and added some copper colored brads.
This is a matching gift card where I'm giving him some cash for WaWa coffee. He LOVES WaWa coffee and as much as he drinks it, he should buy stock I swear! Anyway, the sentiment I added in the center is like a personal joke between us. Before he retired, he worked nights and often the truckers used to call for directions to bring deliveries to the plant. One night a trucker with a very heavy southern drawl called and said "Uh, yeah.....I'm down here at this Dubya A Dubya A (WaWa - pronounced wah-wah) and wondered if you could give me directions to get there?" It took my hubby a while to figure out what he meant or where he was, so we had a good laugh over that! It stuck after all these years and we now refer to WaWa stores as Dubya A Dubya A :)
This is a digi image of Cocoa Mouse by SNSS and it might be one of my all-time favorite images. I colored it with Copics and added some Geo Sparkler stickers for a little bling.
Here's the set together - I hope he gets a kick out of it :) I know he'll love the $$$!
I'm entering this over at the Simon Says Stamp blog. They're asking us to share our inspiration love with them, and show them how we've been getting inky.
Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a happy Monday!
Carol

You went all out for hubby making these wonderful cards. I've never heard of WaWa. I thought the Dubya had something to do with George Bush. Ha
Love that brick paper and the punch. I am all into copper although I rarely use it.
Hope your hubby has a wonderful, fun birthday. I guess he'll be out getting some coffee with that money you're giving him. :-)
Wow - that metallic paper is great! And I don't think I'll look at WaWa stores the same again - LOL what a great story! Happy Birthday wishes to your hubby.
Copper, and bricks, and die cuts, oh my! He will think they are great, my friend. A coffee set, what a surprise! LOL!
Carol, Those papers are beautiful. What a cute story about the trucker. I'm sure Butch will love the gift, card and $$. Happy birthday to both of you tomorrow. Hope you both do whatever you like to do best. I'll be calling "ya"

I am laughing my head off at Dubya A Dubya A. My hubs is from Pennsylvania and I am a Texan. I remember thinking that was the most oddly named store ever! The copper and torquoise really look good together.
Cute cards, Carol, I'm sure he loved them. I hope you managed to go where my husband went for breakfast to celebrate his recent birthday. (To get his FREE breakfast!) I know you know where I mean...smile)
