This card is for the OWH Stars & Stamps challenge being sponsored by Robin's Fetish to "try something round" on our cards. The round item on my card is this cute Cocoa mouse image by SNSS. I stamped it on watercolor paper, embossed it with clear detail ep, and colored it with Tombow markers. The candy cane on the sentiment panel is a Jolee sticker, and I embossed the chevron DP with a similar embossing folder to give it a little dimension. Sentiment is by Inkadinkado and I used Spellbinders circles and ribbon tags die cuts. Ribbon is from my stash.
I made a red & gold version of this card last week, so I wanted to try it with silver and blue for this challenge. May Arts ribbon is sponsoring a challenge over on the Stars & Stamps blog to create a Christmas card for our troops (and/or heroes) and wrap it up using ribbon. I wove the ribbon through the Spellbinders fancy tag diecut and I love using ribbon in this way because it goes through the mail without extra postage. I used 2 lengths of ribbon, and fastened it down with Scor-tape. The mat behind the sentiment panel is metallic silver which explains this wonky photograph. The reflection just doesn't make for good photos, but the colors are real pretty IRL. I used a SU fancy scalloped border punch, SU! snow swirled stamp set, clear ep, versamark ink, square and round silver brads and a snowflake embossing folder for the background. The ribbon came from Michaels.
That's it for me today but I wish you all a wonderful Tuesday!
Carol

Your cards are beautiful! Love the mouse and the bow on the circle. Especially love the tree card because I am a metallic embossing addict! Great, great idea to weave the ribbon through the tag too. Glad I visited! :)
ReplyDeleteCarol each of your cards is just gorgeous! I didn't know K 'n K did pre-colored images, I'm intrigued! Thanks for playing in our "circles" challenge at Operation Write Home!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, every time I come here, there's a new batch of cards and they're all so different and GORGEOUS!

ReplyDeleteHi Carol, These cards are all wonderful. That is such pretty ribbon on your fireman card. Cute image also. the Cocoa Christmas card is fabulous. I love that chevron paper embossed like that. Also pretty ribbon on that card. On your Snow Swirled set I like it even better with the blue. That set is really one of my go to sets for Christmas and it always looks so nice whatever color it is embossed in. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYou have been a busy girl since I went away for a little trip over the weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour fireman card is just the cutest thing ever. Love the background on your Cocoa card..so cool. Of course, your embossed Christmas tree card is outstanding. Carol, you're a card-making machine.
Fabulous cards, Carol. I love your embossing on the candy cane card and your Christmas tree looks so elegant. The card for your firefighter friend is perfect - the colors, the ribbon, the embossing - everything.
