My card today is for this week's QFTD#49 challenge over on SCS. This week's queen is known as RedBugDriver/aka Karen. I've been making these vellum flowers lately, so when I found this card in her gallery, I decided to take my inspiration from there.
I found a scrap of kraft and punched it with MS's arch lattice and added these royal purple vellum hydrangea flowers - all done with 2 MS punches and a stencil pen. I created the leaves by folding the green vellum, and running through the crimper and cutting by hand. The ef is the Texture Fades brick wall, and the sentiment was done with Nesties labels 10. I added some lavender gemstones for interest.
For those of you interested in making these flowers, Selma has a great tutorial here that I found in Karen's link, so I thought I'd share it with you. I was given a pack of multi-colored vellum by someone several years ago, and I've been using it a lot lately, making these beautiful flowers. It feels good to put my stash to good use after sitting around taking up space for such a long time!
We're in for some wicked wind later this afternoon and power outages are predicted, so I'm glad I could get this card posted before the nasty weather rolls in!
Have a great Friday and thanks so much for stopping in, it's always great to see you!
Carol

Carol, Simply a beautiful card. Love the color of the flowers and it just seems to all pull together: climbing flowers up a trellis on a brick wall. You are so very talented. I checked out your entire blog yesterday right back to your first posting. GREAT work. I'm going to email you today.
