Country Truck

I've had a paper pad for years that I was never quite certain what to do with, so I pulled a piece from it and stamped this SU! Country Livin' image on it just to see how it would turn out. I colored the truck with Copics to look old and faded and stamped a willow tree to the left of it with Versamark and then Versa color sand to create just a shadow of a tree. If you click the photo to enlarge it, that tree becomes a bit more visible. I sponged the edges with 2 distress inks and then distressed the edges to give it an overall aged look. I searched through my cardstock and found a very old faded sheet of Rose Red that perfectly matched the truck, so I added a strip of burlap for a rustic border, and added a Repeat Impressions sentiment to call this one done.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Pinspirational challenge #218 - use this inspirational photo

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Friday! Here in PA there's a heat wave rolling through for the coming week, so I hope to be indoors stamping away and keeping my fingers crossed that our a/c unit holds up through it all!

What a cool card, Carol! Love, love, love this with that old truck and the burlap just gives it that old vintage feel! And WOW, Rose Red....don't think I have touched that color in quite awhile! You colored this perfectly to match the cardstock and I like that you stamped your image on a piece of patterned paper! Any guy who receives this one will cherish it! GREAT card! TFS and let's hope all our AC's hold up through this heatwave! Stay cool! :)

A really great stamp for that challenge. The colors of the mat look just right - good to know that there is a reason to keep the cardstock that may have accidentally faded! I like all the distressing around the edge, too.

Oh, Carol, you coloured that truck so well, wow!! This masculine card has a lovely vintage/rustic feel with that stripe of burlap and the distressed edges!!! Also the DP you used for stamping the truck and the "shade of tree" :) looks just perfect! The sentiment is just the best for this card, it's vintage and masculine at the right point! :D
Hugs, have a lovely weekend!
