Lately I've been loving this Melon Mambo, white & black combination, so I've used it for the OWH sketch challenge #234. Today's sketch is right up my alley as I love making layered cards with lots of texture. The chevron dsp is from WeRMemory Keepers - a score from a Tuesday Morning store. The main image is SU! Pictogram Punches and the mini heart was done with a SU! mini punch. I did a little piercing and embossed the Melon Mambo panel with a Darice ef. The 3 hearts were done with Lil Inker dies, and they just looked better there than a circle, so once again I took liberties with the sketch, but that's nothing new :)
Here's my card for the OWH midweek throwdown which is to make an any hero card with stars. I printed off a few extra of these digi sentiments (free from Paula through OWH a long time ago) when I was playing along with the VCMP earlier this month, so I used another one today. I usually make masculine hero cards, so I'm trying to make more feminine cards since there are many female heroes serving our country too! The embossed panel was done with a SU! spots ef, and the stars were done with a SU! mini punch. Mini white brads were added to the centers.
I'm also entering these into Pixies Snippet Playground #134 as I used leftover snippets on both cards.
I also wanted to mention that Deedee Anderson has added a new freebie to the store but it's only available until Friday! You can find all the details here for grabbing "Triple Scoop" while it's free! Check it out!
Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day with me and make it a wonderful day whatever you do!

I too love that Melon Mambo with the White and Black, very stylish. Both of these cards are a delight for me eyes. Some female hero will be thrilled with this second card, that's for sure. Have a great day talk to you soon.

Terrific take on this week's sketch Carol! Love all the texture, especially the piercing. The liberties using hearts is so adorable, and they do make sort of a circle. lol!
Black, white and melon mambo are the best combo ever. What a striking card! I love all the zig zagged motion in it and the paper piercing. Everything is perfect. The other card is no slouch either.
