I'm burned out from making Christmas cards and treat boxes, so today I wanted something bright and colorful to change my mood. I found a great sketch that inspired me to make this card. Since we've had no sunshine for several days and won't have any for several more, I added some bright colors to cheer myself up from these gloomy rainy days.
I had a snippet of mint green cardstock that I embossed with a WRMK gemstone embossing folder and also had a snippet of turquoise cardstock with which I die-cut the ticket sentiment panel along with a strip to divide the 2 panels. I used an ARTplorations broken glass stencil along with assorted Distress inks to create the panel on the right side. The sentiment was stamped at a friends house years ago and I added a tiny red heart brad and called this one done.
I'm sharing with the following challenges:
Can You Handle the Pressure? - A/G using an EF with *optional twist - winter
the December Stencil Fun Challenge - A/G using a stencil *opt. Christmas
The Snippets Playground Challenge #470 - Anything BUT Christmas
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

That's a gorgeous cardx, and I love how the left side is embossed, so pretty. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteThat colourful card really brightened my day. It's been very dark here all day and lashing with rain.
ReplyDeletePlaying with colours is the better way to cheer up ourself, I find this always very therapeutic! LOVE the colours you used here and how the broken glass stencilled panel matches the embossed one! That cute heart on the ticket is the perfect compliment for the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteHope the sunshine will return quickly in your zone. Here we have had a lot of sunny days lately, but now we have a grey sky and dripping clouds so it seems that the party is over LOL :D
Sending you big hugs, love and smiles from afar!
Beautiful cheerful card, like how your embossed pattern matches with your other main panel!
ReplyDeleteA lovely colourful thank you card. Nice take on the sketch,
ReplyDeleteThanks for entering a piece of homework to the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse later - we're busy finishing off the festive goodies! xxx
Beautiful card love the colourful stencilling and embossed side.

Such a fun card to bring some color into our dreary lives with all this rain! I love the colors and the sentiment is just perfect to let someone know you appreciate them! Thanks for bringing a bit a brightness into my day today as it's gloomy and just yukky out! We are gonna need about a week to dry out after all this rain but I know we need it. TFS and wishing you a colorful day! Hugs~
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree that the bright colors and design is a nice change from all the Christmas cards. Love the complimentary triangle theme, great card! Thanks for sharing with us at Can You Handle the Pressure.
ReplyDeleteWow Carol. You really nailed that sketch - wonderful colours as well!

How unique & fun!
ReplyDeleteGreat job with that sketch. I need to try doing sketch's more!
ReplyDeleteWow what a great sketch and I love the bright cheery colors you used. I know what you mean being burned out on Christmas. I was that way a few years ago and learned that if I make just a few a week all year, I don't get burned out at the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteOh wow Carol! I love the different variants with the triangle shape! Really cool stencil and I love the mix of colors in your stained glass looking panel! I'm with you and all of the dark days we've had with rain and snow mixed in! Today there is a bit of sunshine, but cold! Crafting time will occupy most of the winter for me! LOL
ReplyDeleteA super card and thank you for the lovely bright colours, yep! We could do with a little brightness here too, we had to put the lights on at 2.15pm today, the sky was like night and lashing with rain.
