Rock Star

I found this pre-printed sentiment in my snippet box and built the card around it. I started with a kraft card base and stenciled some mosaic stars on it with a SSS stencil and some antique linen ink. I also found a strip of dark brown cardstock in my snippets box and embossed it with a tiny hearts embossing folder, then cut it in 2 unequal portions, adding 3 punched stars in between them done with gold mirror cardstock and a retired SU! mini star punch. I added a piece of the gold mirror card beneath the sentiment and fishtailed the ends and called this one done. I think it will make a good card for a teen boy so this will go into my stash of ready-made cards.

I'll share with these challenges:

Can You Handle the Pressure? - A/G embossing with an optional twist of bees

September Stencil Fun - A/G with a stencil - optional "fall"

The Snippets Playground #463 - must use snippets

Thanks for stopping by. It's a rainy day in PA and we'll have more tomorrow, so it's time to get inky!

Carol

  4. You are so clever and creative building a masculine card around a sentiment! I wouldn't be able to do this, you always amaze me! Beautiful design with all those stars in different techniques and colours! Great choice cut the embossed stripe in two different measures and put the golden stars between them, it adds interest and dimension! Love also the stencilled mosaic stars and the fishtail banner! You rock too, my friend! :D Well done!
Have a lovely crafty weekend, enjoy your stash! :)
    Big hugs and love!

  6. Oh Carol, I am loving this card! The colors, the stenciling, everything about it I love! It will make a great teen boy card, so a good one to have in your stash for sure. It certainly is a rainy, dreary weekend isn't it? So a good time to spend in the craft room. I had to go out this morning and it was miserable, was so happy to get right back home to stay! Stay dry my sweet friend! Hugs, Brenda

  7. I really like the idea of finding a sentiment then building the card from it. You’ve certainly come up trumps with this one. Perfect for boys or men IMHO.

Thanks for entering a piece of homework to the Snippets Playground. See you up in the treehouse later. Fancy a hot chocolate with extra marshmallows? X

  11. Perfect card for a teen! I made one years ago when we were in Joplin for a teen and to this day it still sits on my card rack! I love this with all those stars! Great color combo and that embossed panel just adds a pop of texture to your card! Well done, my friend! TFS and have a good day even if it is raining....we really need it! Hugs~

  18. I have a tote next to my desk that I am trying to use stuff up. I imagine it is like your snippet box. I love when I can build a card around using items out of that box. This is just perfect for your sentiment.
