I found a sketch on CardsTV recently which prompted me to try to use up some of my paper pads I've accumulated through the years. These snippets came from a very old KaiserCraft pad and they're all done in shades of purple. I used an old flower punch to make all the tiny flowers and dotted each one with a purple pearl. The enamel heart on the sentiment panel is by Taylored Expressions and the large flower and brad have been in my stash probably since I started making cards.
I'll enter this into the Snippets Playground #425 hosted this week by the lovable Sarn - who is alternating the hosting duties to give Di a well-deserved break.
Thanks for stopping by and for all your kind comments. I'm learning to practice deep breathing to keep myself calm in the midst of such sadness we've been dealing with. It's difficult to distract yourself from what's so upsetting, but I'm trying!
Have a wonderful day whatever you do!
Carol

Woah . . . that is a PERFECT example of card using up smaller snippets Carol! Top marks!
ReplyDeleteAfter all that punching, you totally deserve a coffee with a little (I mean A LOT) of Baileys added to it. Climb up to the treehouse for some refreshments - and maybe a hot cross bun or chocolate egg? It is NEARLY Easter after all! LOL! xxx
This sketch has worked out really well and is a great way of using up some of those snippets from paper pads which always seem to go on forever.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card, Carol and it's in one of your favorite colors, purple! What a great design with that paper and pretty flower punch! Love the sentiment, too! I have been thinking about you and know that someone does care. We've all been down this road and I agree, it is difficult to stay focused when dealing with loss. I still struggle with it too. I have no advice to offer. You will get back to things you enjoy when the heartache gets a bit easier. Always here for you! Sending you love & hugs...
ReplyDeleteA really pretty card and great use of snippets

ReplyDeleteWOW! Carol, what a wonderful and beautiful card using snippets, a Super design. The breathing technique is a really good way of dealing with bad situations, time is a healer, but it's so hard in the meantime, Huge Hugs

So pretty. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThe feelings of loss are the saddest, I think. It does take time and there is no time limit on what you feel. I'm glad you are still making cards and this is a beauty. The snippets of papers are lovely and adding the flowers to the center brings the eye right to them. A cute design too.
ReplyDeleteHi dear friend, hope today is better than yesterday and tomorrow will be also better than today!
ReplyDeleteLove the sketch you used, it really seems created to use snippets! :) Lovely design with the cute little flowers and the pretty papers! Love the purple palette too!
Sending big hugs, peace and love as always on your way!
Lovely way to use up little bits of paper and best of all you could make so many cards dependent on different designs of paper... The possibilities are endless.
ReplyDeleteSending much love Carol, today you need to know you're stronger than you think x
