Quilt Cards

I haven't made any quilt cards in a while, so I pulled out some hoarded snippets of the beautiful color of Gina K's wild orchid, along with some white and black card stock and used a MFT quilt die to cut one from each color; swapping negatives to make 3 different cards. They all have chipboard buttons I bought years ago and never used, and I wove thin card stock strips through the holes to look like thread. The greeting on this one is by Hero Arts.

The greeting on this one is by Northwoods, heat-embossed with white ep on a black snippet where I fishtailed the ends with a square punch.

and finally the greeting on this one is by Stampa Rosa 1999.

I'd like to enter the first card into the following challenges:

I'm also entering it into the Simon Wednesday Challenge which is anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by and here's wishing everyone a good day.

  1. It is almost like you have been reading my mind! These are laying on my desktop. I was inspired by a lady who said she cut a dozen different to make the quilts she posted. I just love them for everyday sentiments, and the color combo looks fantastic!

  5. Always love your quilt-like cards! :D Great choice of colours, all three are so elegant and the chipboard buttons look great! It's brilliant how you use the paper strips as faux threads!! My fav is the second one with the fishtails banner!

  13. I so admire quilters that spend so much time on creating just one quilt. My sister was one but has scaled back making smaller masterpieces. I have never made a quilt card as I know i wouldn't get it right. Love both your cards Carol. Such a simple style with stunning results. Of course I love the colours.
