Sympathy Card

I'm always in need of sympathy cards for my stash, and this one was created with a Hero Arts stamp set with the flowers and leaves having been heat-embossed with white. I sponged the elements with Distress inks in Lemonade and Citron, going heavier on the flowers and leaves, and lighter on the background. I dotted the flower centers with a fine brown marker and added a SU! sentiment done with SB petite oval dies.

Thanks for spending a few minutes of your day visiting - now go enjoy the weekend! Mother nature gave us a break with some sunshine today, so it's time to get outdoors and enjoy it!

  1. Lovely delicate effect here and a nice sentiment for the cards we sadly all need from time to time.

  2. Beautiful card Carol. The flowers look so pretty stenciled in white and then the darker colors to highlight them. So pretty!

  3. It's so sad that we have to have a stash of sympathy cards, but age seems to do that to us. I love this beautiful sympathy card Carol! It is so summery and I love those flowers. It gives a sense of peace and serene as well which is always perfect for a sympathy card. Hugs, Brenda

  8. So pretty! You've done a great sponging job on the background, and I'm loving how you've managed to get such pretty shading on those flowers and leaves. What a good idea to make some of these necessary cards before you have to scramble to make one in a hurry. Hope you're doing ok today. TFS & Hugs (glad you are getting some sunshine today. We did too, and yesterday as well).

  11. This is lovely, Carol! I thought you had painted it, which is difficult enough, but I think sponging the colors so distinctly is even more difficult! Well done! Hugs, Darnell
