Today I have a card that was created around some beautiful ribbon I've had in my stash for eons. I bought it because I loved it, but it's just too wide to make a pretty bow for cards because it adds too much bulk for mailing. I decided to tie a soft knot instead of a bow, and I'm happy that I was able to use some of it by doing this.
My card began with a kraft cardbase and a piece of vanilla cardstock where I used a SU! doily background stamp and some Versacolor sand beige ink. Next I cut a SU! paper doily in half and glued that to the top of the card; adding the ribbon right over it. To make things flow toward the bottom, I cut a fancy flourish with a Cheery Lynn die from kraft, then punched 2 different sized vanilla flowers with a large Carl punch, and a small Punch a Bunch matching flower punch. I added some Kaiser self-adhesive pearls to the centers and randomly added dots of Nuvo clear glitter crystal drops around the flourish. I used some Ranger Mushroom ink to stamp the SNSS sentiment.
I'm entering this card into the Double D Challenge which is "neutrals with texture." They've given us this pretty mood board to get us started:
Thanks for stopping by, and as the card says - I am thankful for you for taking the time to stop by and see what I've been creating :)
Have yourself a fantastic day and dance in the rain if you have to :)

Absolutely beautiful, Carol! I love the soft warm colors on this card and that pretty ribbon! You must have been reading my mind as I was just thinking of using the Doily stamp the other day as it's been collecting dust on my shelf. The doily image goes so nicely with your swirl of pretty flowers, too! Great job on this!
ReplyDeleteStunning and very elegant card.
