Poinsettia Christmas Card

Here's yet another wooden background I made with a SNSS wood plank stamp from the grunge borders set. I used assorted distress inks to create a variation of color. The red panel was embossed with a SU! petals a'plenty ef, and the green panel was hand-cut into a fishtail. The doily is from SU! and the poinsettia was made with a set of SB poinsettia dies and leaves. To give the flower some dimension, I curled each petal around a pencil, and for the smaller petals I used a knitting needle to curl them. I added some orange gemstones to the center and finished this by adding a "merry" sentiment, cut with a Sunny Studio die from gold foil cardstock.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

  17. I ran across this and wow! Wow! Wow! WOW! I love poinsettias (on paper, the real things are poisonous to cats and don't grow well). This is fabulous and makes me want to rush out and buy these dies but I don't know I could do them justice like this. Stunning!
