Hey Chick! Get Out of that Feed Bucket!

As you can see, I'm still having fun with that new I.O. bucket die I found at my craft store last week. I stamped and colored a chick from the SU! set "Hey Chick" and fussy cut her, sticking her into the bucket of chicken feed! Hah! I stenciled the image background piece with data dots and bubble stencils in potters clay and summer sky inks, die cutting it with a GMD stitched square die afterward. The scalloped border was done with turquoise and a SB scalloped square die, and both designer papers are from MFT. I used a stamp by Judith to add the weeds around the bucket with vintage photo distress ink and dotted some chicken feed at the top of the bucket with orange and yellow gel pens. (click to enlarge photo) The eggs were stamped from the SU! Hey Chick set, and I turned them over and cut the legs off as the stamp is an egg with legs (?) and attached them with glue to the horizontal border. The candi dots are by SU! and I tweaked the sketch by turning them horizontally as they just didn't look balanced to to me when they were placed according to the sketch.

Here's the sentiment for the inside which is why I added eggs to the front of the card. I stamped this at my friend's house years ago and knew it would be the perfect sentiment for this card! I punched the mat corners with a retired SU! punch to give it a touch of a country feel :)

I'm entering this into the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge #409.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a fabulous Tuesday!

  3. How fun. I like how that chick in a bucket (cluck in a bucket?) has a very determined look on her face--much concentration required. What a fun card all the way 'round.

  6. Those brightly colored feathers remind me of the way the young girls are doing the layers in their hair. It gives me the giggles. I do believe that was one of the sentiments my DD left here for a bit. I love it!
