Spring!

Today's card has a real feel for spring with all of those bright colors and cute Penny Black image. I had some 2x2 samples of dsp given to me a long time ago and had no clue what to do with them, so I cut 1" squares and pieced them all together to make the background for this card. It includes all the colors of the inspiration board below. The Penny Black image was colored with Copics, and then I added a layer of crackle glossy accents to the little boot. The sun was done with a Lil Inker die and the orange center was done with a Poppystamps holly and berries set of dies. The ribbons were snippets from my stash and the image and aqua mats were cut with lil inker stitched rectangle dies.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

The Happy Little Stampers April challenge - anything goes with dies.

Have a happy spring day everyone, and thanks for stopping by!

  1. How precious is this one! Love the background you created to use the perfect colors. My bin of hedgies is still sitting at the table, as once I pull them out, I just need to play with them! Really sweet, Carol!

  7. I really like the quilted look of the background. What is appealing is the hodge podge look to the quilt, not your usual thought out matching patterns. It makes me think of the "left overs" quilt my grandma used to make. Cute card with an adorable hedgy!

  8. Always love your 'quilt' cards. This must have been a tiny bit tedious piecing the 2x2 squares, much like the actual quilting might be! Perfect background for this little cute hedgie. Love those crackled boots. I've been experimenting with different brands of crackle paste and not got anything of note as yet! So I'm especially admiring that texture on the boots. And you know I adore the hedgies! Delightful card. TFS & Hugs
