This card makes use of an Inkadinkado dragonfly stamp I've had for eons. I started by stamping it with versamark ink on a black panel, then heat embossed it with white ep. It was pretty with the sharp contrast of black and white, but there are 2 birds hidden in the wings of this image, so I got out some colored pencils, stickles and a toothpick to make them more visible. You can click the photo to enlarge it, or you can see some of the stickles detail in the close-up picture here...
The papers are from a Little Yellow Bicycle paper pack, and the sentiment is from Verve.
I'm sharing this with the Double D challenge which is "things that fly."
Thanks for the visit, it's always great to have you stop by :)

Ooohhh... amazing work!! This Liberty style stamp is really gorgous! You have had a lot of patience for colouring and add stickles on the two hidden birds!! Well done!! The papers are just perfect!
ReplyDeleteThere is another hidden bird in the butterfly isn't it? ;) It's in the body, with both the wings opened and has a lovely flower in the beack. You have coloured its wings with green. Stunning work!
That is one pretty stamp, Carol! Oh my! I love the way you made the hidden bird pop.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL! Love the added sparkle! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Double D ‘Things that Fly’ challenge! We hope you’ll come back often.

Beautiful stamp and you brought it to another level with those birds brought to the fore front. Have a good night.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a cool stamp Carol! I love the card you made with it!! It is so cool that it has 3 hidden birds on it, so cool the way 2 of the birds make the wings and the last bird makes the body of the dragonfly-I just think this is such a clever design! Great card and I know it will brighten the day of the person recovering! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWOWZER!! This image is really amazing and unique! Love the addition of the sparkle too! Your image really pops out beautifully against the dark background!! I love it! Hugs & Smiles - *Vicki*
ReplyDeleteThat is a really cool stamp. I like how the wings are ornate and full of flourishes that hide some birds if you close enough. They remind me of cutlery that is like that... hidden treasures.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Quite 'mixed media' for you too, and you did it so well. Have seen some of these hidden image in the stamp designs, not sure if I have any. It's certainly made one very gorgeous card too. I like it...lots! Very dramatic. TFS
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card. Finding those birds and highlighting them is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card, love the colours and the dragonfly

Thanks for your kind comments. I was quite pleased to get that stamp for such a great price! I do not make many funny cards so it was nice to have an image to play with and start my funniness collection. lol
