50th Wedding Anniversary Card

My husband's sister and brother-in-law will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary next month, so I made this card for them. My friend Mary Anne loaned me her SU! Number of Years stamp set along with the large numbers framelit dies to put this together. I used very vanilla cardstock with some beautiful satin May Arts ribbon. The bloomin' heart framelit die from SU! was die cut from very vanilla as well as all the little flowers that were glued onto the top and dotted with gold stickles. I popped it up with foam dimensionals and used a gold paint pen to color some tiny hearts on the die too. The big 50 was die-cut from mirror gold card stock and the anniversary banner was heat-embossed with gold. The background was embossed with a Tim Holtz damask ef. I've been having trouble making vanilla cardstock look vanilla lately so I tried 2 different camera settings for this card. You've seen the first one............

and here's the 2nd which appears white. The detail on this picture is sharper, but the color on the first one looks more like the true color. Take your pick! LOL

For those of us in the east facing blizzard conditions later tonight into tomorrow, may we all make it through without incident! Being retired has it's advantages - one of them being that we don't have to leave the house in weather like this!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Monday!

  2. Total gorgeous-ness, Carol! Love the Very Vanilla and gold combo! That Bloomin Heart die is so pretty and I love the look of the embossed panel under the heart! Happy 50th to your SIL! This card is lovely! TFS Stay warm & safe tomorrow. My hubby's company already put him up in a hotel in Reading for the night. The kids & I will be home to tackled the storm and i'm hoping we do not lose power or we're in trouble. Hate being separated from my hubby.

Fabulous big 50 diecut by mirri gold cardstock, and the hot embossed banner compliments it very well! That big bow on the embossed background looks just gorgous!

  17. I suspect cameras don't like vanilla. It never comes out good for me either. This is one fabulous and fancy card! The recipient will cherish it forever!

And 50, huh? Joe and I celebrate 25 tomorrow. I suggested going to the courthouse for a divorce. He didn't like the idea but I said 25 years is far too long to put up with the same person. Can you imagine 50??!!!

  18. What a lovely look, and #1 does show a creamy vanilla on my monitor, while #2 looks more white. That heart shows to great advantage behind the gleaming numbers, and I love the beautiful ribbon too. Whether cream or white, it's a marvelous design and look to celebrate this awesome milestone. HOpe you folks stay safe, power stays on, and you keep warm & dry. TFS & Hugs
