Today I have 2 Christmas cards to add to my stash. I used a Kaisercraft deer die that was cut with kraft cardstock. I mounted it onto very vanilla, then solid green and finally a larger gold mirror oval - each cut with GinaMarieDesigns stitched oval dies. I placed it onto a piece of retired SU! heavy dsp and placed it all on a very vanilla card base. The tiny SU! sentiment was done with versafine onyx black right on the deer because there was no other place for a sentiment.
I'm sharing this with Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge CHNC 321 which is anything goes as long as it's Christmas, with an optional theme of "something green."
I always try to make 2 versions of cards to build up my stash, so here's another made with some LilyBeeDesign "Jingle" dsp with a slightly different design from the card above. I found a piece of long-forgotten cork dsp and layered the black silhouette on that before matting with dark green. I heat-embossed the white sentiment for a little contrast and placed this on a dark green card base.
I'll share this with Craftyhazelnut's Christmas Challenge Extra CHNC for February as well as
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper February 2017 challenge - use patterned paper with any theme.
Thanks for checking in today and I hope your week will be a great one!

I just love both versions, Carol. That gold really pops on the top card, and the pattern paper is just the second. Very pleasing to the eye.
ReplyDeleteWOW, I just love these cards, Carol!! That deer diecut is awesome! Love that you put the embossed sentiment focused directly on the deer! The papers are a perfect match! How great that you already have a bunch of Christmas cards created for the upcoming season! I should follow in your footsteps! TFS and hope you have a wonderful day! :)
ReplyDeleteOh now I like that deer die cut a lot!! Your helping add to my crafty habit! I have those Darcie Daisy stem dies on the way from Amazon after seeing you gorgeous card with them. I really like the deer done in black and that's a fun way to do the sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteThey're two super cards Carol and I love the deer diecut. Also like the way you've placed the sentiments. The papers are lovely and I really like both colourways. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful masculine cards with the layering and the sentiment on the deer looks great! Love how the cork oval matches the dp on the second one!
ReplyDeleteWhoa nelly! THese are some cool dude masculine cards. For some reason I was convinced that the striped paper was wrapping paper (also appropriate for Christmas).
ReplyDeleteTwo super Christmas cards Carol, such an elegant die cut deer.
