Recently I pulled out a long-forgotten stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger called "Just so Hippy" and made a card with the lovable giraffe in the set. I colored his heart-shaped spots with a Copic R22 to match the Snippet of dsp I found in my box. The brown ribbon is from a very old pack of self-adhesive ribbon I bought from QVC eons ago! I pulled the sticky stuff from the back, but you can still see where the adhesive penetrated the ribbon over time and left a big dark mark. To distract the eyes from that, I used a snippet of matching polka dot ribbon to tie a knot, then added some danglers with a couple of SU! tiny tags along with a mini punched heart. I attached them with a neutral piece of twine. The panels were all cut with Lil Inker Stitched rectangles. I decided to go with my 2-fer-1 cardmaking process, so I made a second card while I had the stamp set out of the cobwebs...
For this one I used a Tulisa corner collage die by Poppystamps, placing the image panel on a red card base. I used multi-colors of red Copics to color the giraffe's heart-shaped spots, and tied a balloon to his tail by hand-drawing the string. The ribbon is from my stash and I tied 3 little knots on the side.
It's fun to pull out older stamp sets you've long forgotten about and give them new life. I will continue digging a little deeper into my stash and I'm sure I'll find more goodies to play with soon!
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great weekend!
Carol

These are so cute and fun. Precious giraffe and if you hadn't mentioned it I would have never noticed the ribbon at all. Cute cards and just perfect since April the giraffe is getting ready to have a baby!

How cute and fun giraffe! :) You are a true artist, my friend, the trick to add a bright bow to distract the eyes from the mark has been perfect! If you haven't said it, I have never seen it!!

Good for you at shopping your stash. This cutie is just so adorable, and love that you've dressed her in pink. Quite unexpected and the browns look so pretty with the pinks. Good idea to hide the ribbon smudge with the pink dots, as it tied in so nicely. Also love how you're using these texture dies too. #2 looks very cool with that 'netted' corner. Great idea to do the twofer while the supplies are to hand. TFS & Hugs
Adorable cards Carol! Love love love the colors an all the little extras on that first card!
I didn't even see the spot on the ribbon. Both cards are adorable and once again you will make a couple more people very happy with these treasures. Wishing you a good day.
Wonderful cards, love the image, it's so cute. Love the Brown and pink, great colours together and the Wow! of the second has to be the die corner.
