Here are a few more valentines that were sent to the valentine card drive I donate to every year. I used my Big Shot with a Simon Says Stamp 'heart thank you' die set to make the heart, and stamped it with a SU! Pictogram punches sentiment, adding a punched heart done with a SU! mini heart punch. I used snippets of designer paper and black cardstock and rounded the corners and that was it! I wanted to add brads/sequins/gemstones - but those are not permitted on cards for kids, so this is pretty plain.
I had to make one in blue for the boys so I used the flip side of a piece of a dsp paper snippet with intense blue, only to find that the large, bold print on the other side showed through in the photograph. AWRGH! Oddly enough, IRL this wasn't evident, but my camera apparently has an Xray lens! LOL
Here's one made with a solid background piece of dsp and a snippet of satin ribbon.
I'm sharing with the Cuttlebug Mania challenge which is "Hobby." My hobby is making cards - especially valentines - and I make hundreds every year, sending over 150 mini ones to the grandchildren for their school exchanges as well as donating to Cards From the Heart Drive and Cards for Hospitalized Kids. Of all the cards I make, valentines are what I enjoy creating the most these days and I work on them all year long. I don't have any stamps that show someone stamping, so hopefully this entry will work for the challenge.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is filled with love, hope, and kindness.
Carol
All three cards are beautiful. My favorite, however, is the last card. Very feminine :-)

Blue's my favorite color so I'm automatically drawn to that one - however I love all of them! Great design and great cards.

These are adorable Carol! I love them and do not think they are plain at all. Wow, that is a lot of card my friend, how sweet of you to make for your grandchildren's classes and for all the other kids groups! You amaze me! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I'm very impressed by the big number of valentine cards that you make in a year! You are just mithical! :D Congrats for your work!!! You are so kind!!
ReplyDeleteThese three are just adorable, so clean and striking!! Love expecially the first one and the second one with blue tones, and I think that the print on the other side of the blue part showed through in the photograph looks just lovely!! Beautiful sentiment with the little punched heart!
Hugs
These are all wonderful! I'm sure the children will love them!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so great! I love the traditional ones, but the blue one realy charmed me too. I have had camera tricks played on my cards too. I have no idea how it happens!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful that you are able to make so many Valetines for your grandchildren to share too. What a special memory that will be!
I always feel so lazy when I read about the charities and good endeavours that you support with your cards!
ReplyDeleteTurns out the card club I joined last year makes cards for kids too. Whew. Now I can just enjoy yours and know that I helped out with some too. We go to the local papercraft tore for the whole day and each person brings 10 card kits so that is 100 cards. We have donuts and coffee and create.
It is hard to not use the glitter, brads etc, but safer this way.
Your cards looks great (as always).
Some one is going to just love these..xx

ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful Carol! What I love about them is the different papers you've used on each one! I try to do this Carol, honestly I do...so I admire that you always find a way to do this in your creating! :) My hubby's fave color is blue...so I know he'd like that one! TFS! HUGS
