Time Flies

The challenge at Cards4Guyz #141 is "time flies" so I have the perfect card to enter there. I made a patchwork background with snippets of Echo Park dsp, then embossed them with a SU! square lattice ef, placing it on a black card base that was cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangles. The telephone image by Studio Calico was heat-embossed with gold ep on black and cut with a stitched die as well. The sentiment (also from the same stamp set) is held down with 2 gold mini brads.
There are days when I seriously wish telephones like this were still available - because they worked!! I'm old school and just want a telephone to make/receive phone calls LOL

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you're doing!

How cute! Love that quilted patchwork background and that old telephone is just AWESOME! Yep, I too wish we still had phones like this! I'm old school too and hate anything that challenges me like trying to figure out things on my cell phone! (or laptop for that matter) I hate change! Anyways, I love the sentiment and the stitched panels but that phone steals the show for me! TFS and have a wonderful day, Carol!! :)

One day I should really try your method of using up scraps! These backgrounds you make always look great! I like the phone image a lot too, very classic!

I think I saw you took the top 3 over at Tuesday Throwdown today. Cool!

Ah ah... :D I remember that when I was a little kid we have had a telephone as this! Only to make and receive phone calls :D I enjoyed put my finger into the holes and make numbers :) Very pretty card, love your "famous" embossed patchwork of dp snippets, it seems a cross stitching embroyedy !
Hugs, I'm very busy in these days, don't found time to craft!! :((

Love this and I agree these phones are awesome. You may find one in a 'junk' store which would be fab. I have not seen one since .....a long time ago... {aNNie}

Hi Carol, I've been MIA again and I'm sorry for that. I think I am going to name you patchwork queen. You do such a fabulous job on your patchwork backgrounds. I love everyone of them that you make and this one is no exception. You always pick the perfect papers, colors and designs. I do love this card also because of the phone. I, like, you like my "old-fashion" phone that just makes and receives calls. Great card here and all your cards for the past week. I did go through them and love each one of them. Wishing you a great day today.
